Continuing the training program to prepare for the 2023 Women's World Cup, on June 19, the Vietnamese women's team had a friendly match with the Polish U23 women's team at Znicz Pruszków Stadium. Despite their efforts, due to their physical disadvantage, Coach Mai Duc Chung's students were defeated with a result of 1-2.
The home team U23 women's team Poland is superior in many aspects so they quickly created an overwhelming situation. |
In the first 15 minutes of the match, Poland controlled the ball more and organized pressing attacks on the Vietnamese women's team's field. Many dangerous situations were created but were all successfully blocked by goalkeeper Kim Thanh. In the 23rd minute, Magdalena Sobal dribbled down the right wing in the 16m50 area, accurately finishing to bring the opening goal for the home team.
After conceding the goal, the Vietnamese women's team pushed up their formation to attack. In the 26th minute, from a combination with Hai Yen, Huynh Nhu dribbled the ball into the opponent's defender's leg, leading to the first corner kick for the Vietnamese team, but the subsequent high ball was unsuccessful. In the 32nd minute, after the attack, captain Huynh Nhu was injured and could not continue the match, so Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang was sent onto the field.
Huynh Nhu was injured and had to leave the field in the middle of the first half. |
In the second half, coach Mai Duc Chung sent Khong Thi Hang in to replace goalkeeper Kim Thanh. This goalkeeper then successfully blocked the shot of the striker of the Polish U23 team. However, in the 58th minute, Khong Thi Hang had to pick the ball out of the net when captain Gabriela Grzybowska accurately scored from the 11m penalty spot, raising the score to 2-0 for the home team.
With the goal of testing the positions, within just 2 minutes later, Coach Mai Duc Chung made 5 adjustments when he sent Thai Thi Thao, Ngan Thi Van Su, Tran Thi Hai Linh, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha, Vu Thi Hoa to replace Duong Thi Van, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung, Luong Thi Thu Thuong, Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy and Nguyen Hai Yen.
In the 74th minute, Vu Thi Hoa dribbled down to the 16m50 area and crossed the ball inside, but unfortunately the ball went too low. In the 77th minute, My Anh crossed the ball for Thuy Hang to compete for a header and send the ball into the opponent's half. However, luck was not on Vu Thi Hoa's side as she continued to shoot the ball over the crossbar.

That was also the final score of the match.
