The conference focused on discussing solutions to build a modern and sustainable Vietnamese digital ecosystem. The event contributed to responding to and promoting the comprehensive digital transformation process, building a digital economy in Vietnam, connecting the world's leading technology corporations and creating momentum for digital infrastructure development towards realizing Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

Sharing about the topic of digital infrastructure development at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Dat, Deputy General Director of Viettel Group, said: “Regarding the 5G network, despite facing many challenges in terms of large investment costs, we still aim to deploy quickly to reach coverage like 4G today by 2026. All urban and rural areas will use the most modern 5G Massive MIMO (massive multiple antennas) equipment, ensuring high performance and readiness for new generation digital services. This goal is to ensure that all people have the opportunity to access technology, regardless of region, narrowing the digital gap in Vietnam, towards the goal of the digital economy contributing 30% of Vietnam's GDP by 2030".

A representative of Viettel High Tech, the unit in charge of researching and manufacturing high-tech equipment of Viettel Group, said that Viettel has now completely mastered 5G core network technology, affirming its role as both a telecommunications operator and a technology researcher and developer.

Not only stopping at deploying a self-sufficient 5G core network, at the discussion session, Viettel also announced positive results in researching and developing Open RAN technology. This is a strategic direction to help expand the autonomy of telecommunications infrastructure, reduce dependence on foreign suppliers, and promote flexibility and openness in network architecture. With mastery of both hardware and software, Viettel is among the few network operators in the world capable of comprehensively deploying a self-sufficient 5G ecosystem. From this solid foundation, Viettel will move towards 5G Advanced and 6G in the next 5 years, continuing to affirm its pioneering position in the field of telecommunications - information technology in Vietnam and the region.

At the conference, representatives of Viettel Cyber Security and Viettel IDC also discussed with GSMA, LG, Nokia, Ericsson about technology solutions, policy contributions in the field of cyber security and artificial intelligence. According to Mr. Julian Gorman, Director of Asia - Pacific of GSMA, Vietnam's economy is growing very fast, probably one of the fastest growing economies in the region and Viettel is one of the largest operators. The voice of Vietnam and Viettel deserves to be louder in the industry and this event is the first step in that process.

GSMA is the global organisation representing more than 750 telecommunications operators and 400 technology companies in the mobile ecosystem. Representing mobile operators and organisations in the mobile ecosystem and related industries, GSMA benefits its members through three main pillars: connecting for the benefit of the community; services and industry solutions; and access. GSMA achieves these goals by organising the world's largest annual technology events such as MWC and M360, promoting policy, and supporting technology.
