Focus on propaganda work
Identifying propaganda work as one of the important measures in building the movement, in recent years, Party committees, authorities, organizations and police forces have, through many measures, promoted propaganda, education, and raised awareness among religious people about the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, especially policies on religion and national solidarity policies. Thereby, raising awareness of law enforcement, promoting the sense of responsibility and proactiveness of people in detecting, fighting and denouncing crimes, especially plots and activities that take advantage of religion and beliefs to violate security and order (ANTT).
Van Hung Commune Police, Van Ninh District met with dignitaries to propagate and encourage people to live a "good life and good religion". |
Xuan Tu 2 Village (Van Hung Commune, Van Ninh District) is home to about 1,400 parishioners. To contribute to ensuring security and safety for the religious community, the Party Committee, the government, organizations and the Commune Police actively coordinate with dignitaries and prestigious people in the religious community to promote propaganda, disseminate legal education, and mobilize parishioners to participate in the TDBVANTQ movement, live a "good life, good religion", and not listen to bad elements that affect the great solidarity of the people. According to Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Duy - Deputy Head of the Van Hung Commune Police, the extensive propaganda work has gradually raised the sense of responsibility, thereby parishioners actively participate in preventing, fighting and denouncing crimes, providing many valuable sources of information, actively supporting the police force in ensuring security and order, and keeping the area peaceful.
Khanh Vinh mountainous district not only has a large population of ethnic minorities but also has many religious organizations operating in the area such as Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism. Therefore, the work of national solidarity and religious solidarity has always been given special attention by the local government in general and the police force in particular. The police force regularly meets with religious dignitaries to grasp their thoughts and feelings, take timely measures to resolve arising issues; propagate and mobilize religious establishments to operate in accordance with the law...
Replicating self-management models of security and order
Along with promoting propaganda and mobilization, with the active advice of the police force, local Party committees and authorities, organizations have consolidated, maintained and expanded many models of mass participation in maintaining security and order in areas of ethnic minorities such as: "Self-governing parish on security and order" in Cam Phuoc Dong commune, Cam Ranh city; "Peaceful religious hamlet" in Dien Xuan commune, Dien Khanh district; "Buddhist association unites to self-govern security and order" in Ninh Binh commune, Ninh Hoa town; "Unanimously building the homeland" in Ngoc Hiep ward, Nha Trang city... The models were built in accordance with the characteristics of the locality and the aspirations of the people, so they gathered and mobilized a large number of ethnic minorities to participate in crime prevention and control, thereby actively supporting the police force in ensuring security and order in residential areas.
Unlike the plains, in mountainous areas, the promotion of the role of village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people among ethnic minorities is given special attention by the grassroots police force. Son Trung Commune, Khanh Son District is an example. With more than 75% of the population being ethnic minorities, many of whom follow religions, in order to do a good job of ensuring security and order in the area, the Commune Police have advised the Commune People's Committee to establish two models: "Promoting the role of prestigious people in the ethnic minority community" and "Self-managed religious groups on security and order". In recent times, these models have had positive effects in maintaining security and order in the area. Village elders and prestigious dignitaries have actively coordinated with the police force to propagate and educate their children and grandchildren to comply with the provisions of the law, to live a "good life and good religion", thereby contributing to maintaining peace in the village.
Colonel Dinh Hong Nghiep - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department said that with many creative and effective ways, the TDBVANTQ movement among religious people has been constantly consolidated, maintained and developed firmly, promoting the strength of the masses in the fight against crime. In the past 10 years, religious people have provided thousands of crime reports, helping the police force promptly resolve and handle hundreds of cases, contributing to ensuring local security and order. The development of the TDBVANTQ movement is closely linked with the construction of new rural areas and the movement for the whole people to unite to build a cultural life in residential areas, which has been actively responded to by religious people, creating a spiritual strength of solidarity and determination to build an increasingly rich and civilized homeland.
