Lao Cai: Set up a team to inspect tourism service business activities during the April 30 - May 1 holiday

It is expected that the number of visitors to Lao Cai during the April 30 - May 1 holiday will increase.

In order to serve the needs of people during the upcoming 5-day April 30 and May 1 holidays, Lao Cai province has directed the organization of many cultural, artistic and entertainment activities. In particular, Sapa town has also completed the plan to organize many activities at the provincial level directed by Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee and implemented by Sa Pa Town People's Committee such as the series of programs "Sa Pa - Land of Love", street festival "Sa Pa - Convergence of Colors", launching "Ethnic Cultural Space"...

In particular, Fansipan Sa Pa Cable Car Tourist Area will open the Fansipan Rose Festival from April 26 to the end of June 2025 with a flower car parade, art programs and attractive activities.

In order to ensure the best preparation and operation before, during and after the April 30 - May 1, 2025 holiday, recently, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province, Lai Vu Hiep, signed Decision No. 375//QD-SVHTTDL on inspecting the compliance and implementation of legal regulations in tourism service business activities in the province.

The inspection team is responsible for developing a plan, conducting inspections of compliance and implementation of legal regulations in tourism business activities in Lao Cai province. Strictly handle violations (if any) according to the provisions of law. The inspection period is from April 17, 2025 to May 6, 2025.

According to the report on the socio-economic situation of Lao Cai province in March and the first quarter of 2025, in the first quarter of 2025, many traditional festivals took place in the province such as the Thuong Temple Festival, the Going-to-the-field Festival in Cam Duong commune, Ta Phoi commune (Lao Cai city); the Gau Tao Festival in Hoang Lien commune and the Going-to-the-field Festival in Ta Van commune (Sa Pa town); the Bac Ha White Plateau Festival with the theme "Intoxicated by Spring"... so the number of visitors coming to visit, travel and combine spiritual tourism in localities in the province increased sharply, contributing to increasing revenue from accommodation, food and beverage and transportation services.

The total number of visitors to Lao Cai in March reached 986,558 (of which 89,869 were international visitors and 896,689 were domestic visitors). The cumulative number in 2025 reached 3,042,190/10,000,000 visitors (of which 257,717 were international visitors and 2,784,473 were domestic visitors), equal to 30% of the 2025 plan, up 50% over the same period in 2024. Of which, Sa Pa town attracted about 500,000 visitors; Lao Cai city about 350,000 visitors; Bac Ha district about 79,000 visitors; Bao Yen district about 183,000 visitors; Bat Xat district about 29,000 visitors; other localities about 60,000 visitors, etc.
