The scene of the explosion in the coconut forest appears very briefly in the teaser trailer of the film, featuring the image of a family of three and villagers running through bombs. The fierceness of war is clearly shown with broken coconut trees, houses that are no longer intact, and bombs falling continuously as if wanting to burn everything.

To find a suitable setting, for director Ly Hai, not only is a coconut forest needed, but it also has to be a place with authenticity and historical significance.
After many searches, the team chose Thien Nghiep commune (Ham Tien ward, Binh Thuan province) - where many fierce battles took place during the resistance war. The landowner was also a person who had experienced and witnessed the losses during the anti-American war.

Producer Minh Ha shared: “Right here, there were battles and bombings just like the scene in Lat mat 8: Vong tay nang . There are many coconut trees here with traces of old bombs and bullets.”
In the real explosion scene, almost no CGI image simulation technology was used. The crew prepared carefully with the support of explosion experts to ensure beautiful and safe shots.
The scene used 5 cameras, including 3 large cameras and 2 drones. All members had to know their positions to avoid danger. Ly Hai directly directed, tensely watching every explosion in a split second. Behind the scenes revealed the detailed investment, from camera angles to bomb explosion sounds, realistically recreating the fierceness of war.

The two main actors involved in the scene were Quyen Hua and Kim Hai. After filming, Quyen Hua was still haunted by the explosion in the background, while Kim Hai expressed surprise at the authenticity of the scene.
Lat mat 8: Vong tay nang was written and directed by Ly Hai. Tickets for the film will be available from April 18 and will have special screenings on April 27, 28 and 29 before officially opening in theaters from April 30.
