(Dan Tri) - According to the results of the group stage draw for the Asian Futsal Championship, just announced by the AFC this afternoon (February 6), the Vietnamese women's futsal team fell into a fairly easy group.
Accordingly, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team is in Group B of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship, in the same group as Iran, Hong Kong (China) and the Philippines.
In this group, defending champion Iran is theoretically the strongest. However, unlike men's football or men's futsal, in women's futsal, the level of Iran's women's futsal compared to the rest of Asia is not too different.

Meanwhile, the remaining opponents in Group B of the Vietnamese women's futsal team, including Hong Kong and the Philippines, are rated lower than coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team.
The tightest group, in theory, is Group C, with the runners-up Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and Bahrain. Group A includes the hosts China, Uzbekistan, Taiwan and Australia.
The final round of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship will take place from May 7 to May 18 in China. The host country has not officially announced the city that will host the Asian tournament, but it is likely that this year's tournament will take place in Hohhot, in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (China).

According to the rules, the top two teams in each group, along with the two third-placed teams with the best results in the three groups, will advance to the quarter-finals. From the quarter-finals onwards, the matches will be played in a single-elimination format.
The 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship also serves as a qualifying round for this year's Women's Futsal World Cup. If the host team of the World Cup, the Philippines, makes it to the semi-finals, the other three teams in the Asian semi-finals will automatically qualify for the World Cup.
In case the Philippines fails to reach the semi-finals, the Asian champions, runners-up and third-placed teams will qualify for the World Cup finals (in which case, the Asian third-place match will serve as a play-off match for a World Cup ticket).
