With tens of thousands of workers, many businesses in Dong Nai spend tens of billions of dong in lucky money for workers returning to work after the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.

On February 2, Mr. Dang Tuan Tu, chairman of the trade union of Changshin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Vinh Cuu district), said that after the Tet holiday, the company will welcome workers back to work on February 3 (the 6th).
On the first working day of the new year, the company leaders and union will welcome, encourage and give lucky money to all employees.
With about 38,500 workers in three factories (Vinh Cuu, Long Thanh and Tan Phu), the company will spend about 7.7 billion VND to give lucky money to staff and workers (200,000 VND each).
According to Mr. Dang Tuan Tu, Changsin will receive good news in the new year when it receives many new orders. To meet customer demand, the company needs to recruit about 4,000 more workers, mainly unskilled workers.
Similarly, TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City) also spent about 7.2 billion VND to give lucky money to about 36,000 employees and workers.
Mr. Dinh Sy Phuc, Chairman of TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company, said that in addition to giving lucky money, the company also gives gifts to some workers in difficult circumstances.
At the same time, about 20 buses were organized to pick up workers and their relatives in the North and Central regions to return to Dong Nai to work.
Compared to many other companies, TKG Taekwang Vina gives workers an extra day off to have time to celebrate Tet with their families. Workers officially return to work on February 4 (the 7th).

According to the company representative, the average monthly salary of a garment worker is from 7-10 million VND, with a 13th month bonus (from 12 million VND or more). In addition, the company applies a bonus policy for employees who introduce new workers.
Specifically, for workers with sewing skills, the referrer will receive 500,000 VND/application. For workers without sewing skills, the referrer will receive 300,000 VND/application. The policy is applied until March 2025.
According to Tuoi Tre Online 's research, most businesses in Dong Nai will start production from the 6th to the 8th. Compared to previous years, this year not many businesses will work through Tet except for some specific industries, security forces, and management.
"According to statistics from businesses, only about 2,500 workers in businesses worked through Tet," said a representative of the Dong Nai Province Labor Federation, adding that there will be a specific report on the rate of workers returning to work after the companies resume operations.
The number of workers participating in social insurance increased.
Previously, responding to the press about 50,000-60,000 workers leaving Dong Nai to return to their hometowns to work, the leader of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province said that this figure was not accurate.
Explaining this issue, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province, said that as of November 2024, the whole province had over 835,000 workers participating in social insurance. This number did not decrease, but increased by about 48,000 workers compared to the same period in 2023.
However, Ms. Hien admitted that the department does not know the number of unskilled workers who do not sign labor contracts or are freelance workers.
Besides, Ms. Hien said that the department has not recorded any enterprises with a large number of workers quitting their jobs and having to hire more workers.
Every month, Dong Nai Employment Service Center receives applications from businesses to recruit 6,000-7,000 workers. However, recruitment is difficult because workers return to their hometowns to work because there are industrial parks and jobs in all localities.
"The company's current expansion of production to meet year-end orders is also facing some difficulties. Recruitment is still possible, but less than the company's recruitment needs," said Ms. Hien.
