Nghe An province delegation visits and works in the United States

The delegation included comrades: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Dang Thanh Tung - Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee; Pham Hong Quang - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment; Trinh Thanh Hai - Director of the Department of Finance; Pham Van Hoa - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade; Phung Thanh Vinh - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Hoang Phu Hien - Director of the Department of Transport; Le Tien Tri - Head of the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone; Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

During the working program in the United States, on the afternoon of November 6 (local time), the Nghe An Provincial Delegation led by Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee met and discussed with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston, Texas (USA).

Receiving and working with the delegation were comrade Nguyen Trac Ba - Consul General of Vietnam in Houston city and Consulate General staff.

Speaking at the welcome ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trac Ba - Consul General of Vietnam in Houston expressed his pleasure to welcome and work with the delegation of Nghe An province led by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung to visit and work in the United States.

This visit of the Nghe An Provincial Delegation was made in the context of US President Joe Biden's state visit to Vietnam from September 10 to September 11, 2023.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conducted bilateral activities in the United States from September 17 to September 23, 2023, aiming to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, in the spirit of the Joint Statement on upgrading Vietnam-US relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace, Cooperation and Sustainable Development.

The Vietnamese Consul General in Houston emphasized that this visit and work in the United States demonstrates Nghe An province's great interest in seeking and promoting cooperative relations with US partners in the coming time. The Vietnamese Consul General is ready to coordinate with the province's delegation to effectively implement activities to enhance Nghe An's bilateral cooperation in Texas.

Expressing his pleasure at meeting and working with the Vietnamese Consul General in Houston, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung thanked the Consul General for his thoughtful reception of the delegation and the Consul General's active and effective support in connecting and arranging the delegation's activities in Dallas, especially the organization of the Workshop "Vietnam's economic development prospects after upgrading Vietnam - US relations and investment opportunities in Nghe An" in Dallas, Texas, USA.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung suggested that the Vietnamese Consulate General in Houston continue to pay attention to and support Nghe An province in activities to contact US businesses, creating a bridge to introduce businesses to learn about and invest in Nghe An province in high-tech fields such as semiconductor technology, manufacturing industry, production of materials, electronic components, financial services, and banking.

These are areas that aim to meet the requirements of innovation, digital economy, green economy, circular economy, knowledge economy, sharing economy, climate change response economy, new energy, renewable energy to serve sustainable development for Nghe An province in particular and Vietnam in general.

On the same day, the Nghe An delegation visited the factory of National Circuit Assembly (NCA) Company headquartered in Garland City. This is a large-scale electronic circuit board assembly company, providing services to the entire state of Texas, focusing on the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, Austin, Houston and other states across the United States, especially Florida, California and New York.
