Google announced three new anti-theft features for Android in May: Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock, and Remote Lock. These features help users quickly lock their mobile devices when they are stolen, preventing thieves from accessing personal information.
Google is now starting to roll out to users worldwide. It is known that the two features Theft Detection Lock and Ofline Device Lock have been found on Xiaomi 14T Pro, while some users have discovered the Remote Lock feature on their Pixel 7 Pro devices.
Of the three new features, Theft Detection Lock uses artificial intelligence combined with sensors on the device to detect unusual movements. As soon as suspicious signs are detected, the phone will automatically lock to protect user data.
The Ofline Device Lock feature will automatically activate when the phone is disconnected from the Internet for a long time and the Remote Lock feature allows you to remotely lock the device using a phone number even if you cannot log in to your Google account.
These features will reportedly roll out to devices running Android 10 and above via a Google Play services update released later this year.
