Dien Bien Dong meets with agencies and units assigned to help communes with special difficulties

Secretary of Dien Bien Dong District Party Committee Mua A Vang requested the provincial departments, branches and organizations to continue to pay attention to supporting the district's especially disadvantaged communes.

According to Decision No. 2072/QD-UBND, dated November 17, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee, assigning tasks to departments, branches, sectors and mass organizations of the province to help extremely disadvantaged communes in Dien Bien Dong district, period 2021 - 2025, including: Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Information and Communications, Science and Technology, Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Labor Federation, Market Management Department, Dien Bien Pedagogical College and Dien Bien Phu Newspaper.

From 2021 to present, the units assigned to help the commune have proactively and actively implemented many activities to support production development; build infrastructure for socio-economic development, and trade goods. The units have provided cash and other material support in many forms such as: Supporting schools with IT equipment; awarding scholarships to students; supporting blankets, warm clothes, and necessities for poor households, policy families, and students in the area. With the attention of provincial departments, branches, sectors, and unions, cadres and people in extremely disadvantaged communes have gradually improved their professional skills, applied science and technology to production, contributing to the socio-economic development of extremely disadvantaged communes in particular and completing the socio-economic goals of Dien Bien Dong district in general.

Editor-in-Chief of Dien Bien Phu Newspaper Pham Ngoc Han proposed a number of solutions to support communes with special difficulties in the coming time.

Representatives of extremely disadvantaged communes in Dien Bien Dong district thanked the provincial departments, branches, sectors and organizations for their help, support and coordination in the past time. At the same time, they continued to propose units to support the construction of intra-village traffic infrastructure; cultural institutions of villages and hamlets; lighting up rural roads; building schools; seedlings; distributing medicine and medical examination and treatment to people; implementing digital transformation...

Leaders of provincial departments, branches and unions shared the difficulties of the communes and affirmed to continue to accompany and help the communes in the coming time. Based on the recommendations of the communes, each unit will develop a plan and coordinate with the communes to select support and assistance content suitable to the conditions and capabilities of each unit.

The leaders of Chieng So commune proposed to the Provincial Youth Union some support contents for the commune in the coming time.

At the conference, the leaders of Dien Bien Dong district requested the provincial departments, branches and organizations to continue to pay attention to and help the particularly disadvantaged communes in the district in many forms in all fields of economy, culture, health, education and social security so that the communes can complete the new rural criteria, contributing to improving living standards and sustainable poverty reduction.
