On August 29, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, the Saigon Professional Chefs Association and the Center for Research, Preservation and Development of Vietnamese Cuisine announced that the festival "Promoting Vietnamese Culinary Culture" to honor the culinary profession on the occasion of World Chefs Day, October 20, will be held at the Independence Palace.
This first-ever festival brings together more than 100 booths introducing regional delicacies to serve the public. Coming to the festival, people and tourists will experience enjoying regional specialties made by professional chefs and artisans from Ho Chi Minh City and other localities.
Food festivals in Ho Chi Minh City always attract a large number of people and tourists.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, said that on this occasion, the organizing committee will introduce and launch a Vietnamese culinary map with 126 dishes from 63 provinces and cities - breaking the previous record of a Vietnamese culinary map with 63 dishes.
During the event, people can watch culinary shows, cooking demonstrations on stage, music performances, and a ceremony to honor Vietnamese chefs.

"The Vietnamese culinary map will be made by hundreds of chefs participating in setting the record and displayed as a model on the following days of the festival to serve visitors," Ms. Khanh informed.
On this occasion, the Hu Tieu Go Sai Gon chain also sponsored 500 "zero-dong start-up" packages equivalent to 10 billion VND including: noodle carts with all equipment, tools, training with a value of 20 million VND/package for difficult circumstances across the country.
