Total budget revenue in the area is estimated to increase by 20%.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung emphasized that 2024 is a year of special significance to accelerate the implementation of the goals of the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress and the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021 - 2025. Right from the beginning of the year, the Provincial People's Committee has proactively directed the review and detection of "bottlenecks" and barriers in the process of implementing the socio-economic development plan, ensuring national defense and security to promptly have solutions to resolve or propose to competent authorities to remove them, especially for breakthrough areas and key projects. Thanks to that, the socio-economic situation and national defense and security of the province have achieved important results in all areas.

With the determination to strive to complete the 2024 plan, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung requested delegates, especially members of the Provincial People's Committee to promote a sense of responsibility, actively and qualitatively contribute to the assessment of the situation and results of the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense and security in the first 6 months of the year. On that basis, propose and contribute key, practical and effective solutions that need to be focused on directing to resolutely complete the goals and tasks of the 2024 plan. At the same time, participate in contributing opinions, creating high unity and consensus on the contents submitted to the 25th session of the Provincial People's Council.

According to reports from departments and branches, in the first 6 months of 2024, the province's economic situation achieved many important results, some important economic indicators had a fairly high increase compared to the same period in 2023 such as: investment capital implemented in the area is estimated to increase by 3.95%; total budget revenue in the area is estimated to increase by 20% (total budget revenue estimated in the first 6 months of the year in the area reached 2,200 billion VND, reaching 56.4% of the local estimate and 56.5% of the central estimate); total grain output is estimated to reach 62% of the annual plan; total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue is estimated to increase by 12.3%; import-export turnover is estimated to increase by 27%. The winter-spring crop was a good harvest and good price, the total grain output is estimated to reach 1729,000 tons; rice productivity and output reached the highest level ever. Livestock farming continues to develop, and epidemics are under control. Trade and service activities have many positive changes. Tourism activities continue to recover and have many bright spots.

Total budget expenditure is estimated at VND4,740.948 billion, equal to 51% of the estimate. Since the beginning of the year, 14 investment projects have been attracted with registered capital of over VND2,234 billion. Realized investment capital in the area is estimated at VND9,381.6 billion.

Regarding public investment disbursement, as of May 31, the total disbursement value of the province's 2024 public investment plan was about VND 451.61 billion, reaching 19.2% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister and the Provincial People's Council at the beginning of the year and reaching 25.1% of the actual plan implemented by the province.

In the socio-cultural field, develop a plan and direct the preparation for the first Peace Festival in 2024; plan to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vinh Linh Traditional Day; coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to develop a plan to organize the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival in 2024 in Quang Tri province. Avoid the mentality of fear and responsibility

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and proposing many solutions to accelerate the implementation progress and disbursement of public investment projects. Removing obstacles in site clearance; attracting investment; improving provincial competitiveness. New, positive and effective solutions to exploit the potential and strengths in each economic sector and area, especially the industrial - construction sector. Successfully organizing the first Peace Festival and major holidays of the province in 2024. At the same time, participating in giving opinions and agreeing on the contents to be submitted to the 25th session of the 8th Provincial People's Council.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung emphasized that for the tasks in the last 6 months of 2024, based on forecasts that the situation will continue to have many difficulties, striving to achieve the growth target according to the set plan is a huge challenge.

In order to fulfill the goals and tasks set for 2024, departments, branches and localities are required to continue to thoroughly grasp and promptly, synchronously and effectively implement the directives and guidelines of the Central Government, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council and Provincial People's Committee; especially the Conclusion of the 17th Conference of the 17th Provincial Party Committee on tasks and solutions for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the last 6 months of 2024.

Review, identify and proactively propose solutions to organize implementation for difficulties and obstacles in performing tasks in each field and locality to ensure compliance with legal regulations, avoid fear of responsibility. Focus on quickly handing over land to serve project implementation.

Speed ​​up the implementation of key projects such as: My Thuy Port Area, Quang Tri Industrial Park, Quang Tri Airport, Dong Ha City Eastern Bypass Road... Actively remove obstacles, promote disbursement of public investment capital, pay attention to units with low and undisbursed public investment disbursement rates. Focus on successfully organizing a series of activities in the 2024 Festival for Peace.

Regarding the contents to be submitted to the 25th session of the 8th Provincial People's Council, the agencies preparing reports, submissions, and resolutions are required to seriously receive comments to complete the dossier and report to the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council in accordance with regulations, ensuring quality and progress.
