Along the route to the center of Huong Hoa district and the communes of Tan Lien, Tan Long, Lia, Huong Tan, Huong Phung..., all types of trade and services are increasingly vibrant. Restaurants, clothing shops, electronics, phone shops, grocery stores... are increasing in number, meeting the consumption and exchange needs of local people.

Ms. Nguyen Hong Cam, owner of an electricity, water, hardware, and grocery store at Km4, Ho Chi Minh Road, Huong Tan Commune, Huong Hoa District, said: "Thanks to convenient transportation, many constructions and projects are being implemented in the commune and neighboring communes, so our store's business is quite favorable.

Initially, I only sold groceries and household items, but in the past 2 years, I have expanded the store area and boldly borrowed capital to develop a variety of business items. Thanks to that, my family's economy has become more and more stable, and I also have more conditions to support local people in purchasing some seasonal agricultural products, supporting transportation and connecting product consumption."

Currently, the trade and service system in Huong Hoa district is quite vibrant, the retail trade and consumer service network is consolidated, increasingly expanding in business scale, and product designs are diverse and rich.

The district regularly directs the People's Committees of communes and towns to review and grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people, thereby encouraging and facilitating households to access preferential investment loans. Support business households to carry out digital transformation, apply non-cash payment methods, and sell goods online.

Besides developing domestic trade, border trade activities in ethnic minority and mountainous areas are one of the important driving forces to attract investment and develop the socio-economy of Huong Hoa district.

Therefore, the district has strengthened international cooperation activities in various fields with partners in the region and around the world; directed all levels and sectors to create favorable conditions for import and export activities, transporting goods in and out of the border area, promoting production and business development. Creating conditions for border residents to exchange and trade goods in the form of border trade.

In Dakrong district, in recent years, the district People's Committee has focused on effectively implementing mechanisms and policies to promote trade development, integrating capital sources, and attracting organizations and individuals to invest in infrastructure and diversify trade activities.

According to Vice Chairman of Dakrong District People's Committee Le Dai Loi, commercial activities in the center and other areas in the district are stable. The quantity and types of goods are fully supplied by business establishments, meeting the consumption needs of the people. Trade promotion activities are of interest, especially the district has many enterprises and business households with typical products participating in the Trade and Tourism Fair - Trans-Asia Bridge - Quang Tri in 2024 and trade connection programs inside and outside the province.

Currently, in Dakrong district, there are 29 wholesale and retail enterprises, automobile, motorbike, and motor vehicle repair enterprises; 10 cooperatives; 1,693 individual businesses with 2,349 employees and other retail establishments.

Postal and telecommunication services are increasingly improved and developed rapidly, the telecommunication network is expanding throughout the area; 100% of communes have telephone and internet services. Online transactions, buying and selling of products and services, and online sales on social networks are becoming more and more popular. On the other hand, the form of mobile sales through cars and motorbikes to remote communes is convenient, contributing to providing basic essential goods to the people.

Notably, the Provincial People's Committee has granted an investment policy to Nam Tien Company Limited to implement the project "Construction of a conveyor system to transport coal from Laos to Vietnam within the territory of Vietnam (A Ngo commune, Dakrong district) with a total registered capital of VND 1,489.272 billion. In addition, there are a number of projects in the process of completing investment procedures such as: Commercial service area combined with fuel station at La Lay International Border Gate of Anh Phat Petro Joint Stock Company; A Deng village goods storage project, A Ngo commune...

For ethnic minority and mountainous areas, developing trade and services is a fundamental solution to motivate and enable people to increase production, access goods and services from the commodity production of regions, create more jobs and increase income.

Therefore, in the coming time, all levels, sectors and local authorities need to continue to prioritize resources to develop trade and transport infrastructure in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; encourage enterprises, production and business establishments to innovate their operating methods and apply information technology in commercial activities.

At the same time, promote trade promotion activities, connect product consumption; develop service types linking production, processing with circulation and distribution of goods in mountainous areas, remote areas... to contribute to economic restructuring, gradually improving the quality of life of people.
