Not only Vietnam but also the Philippines is a country seriously affected by African swine fever. From a total pig herd of about 13 million before 2020, due to the impact of African swine fever, by 2021, the Philippines' pig herd was only about 9 million, increasing the herd in the post-epidemic period was difficult. Despite seeing the serious impact of the epidemic, the Philippines does not have a single business or laboratory investing in research and production of vaccines against African swine fever.

Therefore, the need for African swine fever vaccine in the Philippines is more urgent than ever. The fact that Vietnamese enterprises have successfully researched, tested and produced African swine fever vaccine is not only a success for Vietnam but also creates hope and attracts attention not only from the Government , management agencies but also businesses and pig farm owners in the Philippines.

Dabaco Group is one of the leading units in Vietnam that pioneered the research and successful production of commercial vaccines against African swine fever. At the same time, Dabaco's vaccine factory was also invested in, completed and granted FMP-WHO certification. The research, testing and successful production of commercial vaccines against African swine fever is not only the pride of Dabaco Group but also the pride of Vietnam. Philippine delegation to Vietnam to attend Dabaco event

Witnessing the success of Dabaco Group in particular and Vietnam in general in the field of research, testing and production of African swine fever vaccine. In a quick exchange with the Vietnam Trade Office in the Philippines, Dr. Constante J. Palabrica, DVM - Undersecretary of the Philippine Department of Agriculture said:

African swine fever has devastated the pig industry because it is highly contagious and easily transmitted. The disease spreads rapidly among pigs, leading to high mortality rates and severe economic losses. The unpredictable nature of the disease makes it difficult to control. The impact of ASF has been particularly severe in countries with large pig farms and herds, leading to large-scale culling of infected pigs and rapid declines in pig herds. With Vietnam’s success, we would like to have more information and learn more from you about ASF prevention and control measures for the Philippines with the ultimate goal of recovery and further progress in the pig industry .

Representing Philippine businesses, Dr. Eulalio D. Lorenzo – President and Chief Executive Officer – EDL Group said:

“From the bottom of my heart, I would like to extend my best wishes to Dabaco Group for the successful commercial launch of the Dacovac ASF-2 African swine fever vaccine and the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the vaccine production plant in Bac Ninh, Vietnam. This event marks a significant step forward in the prevention and control of African swine fever, creating hope and effective protection for the global pig farming industry. The dedication and innovation behind this success have contributed to building a new standard in animal health and food safety. We look forward to and fully support this success and progress as well as the value it brings in restoring and ensuring a stable future for livestock farms in the region, and globally, in the not too distant future .”

In addition, on this occasion, Dr. Eulalio D. Lorenzo would like to express and send his most sincere thanks to the Vietnam Trade Office in the Philippines not only for introducing and supporting the connection between ELD Group and Dabaco Group but also for their dedication, passion and contribution to work.

In the coming time, the Vietnam Trade Office in the Philippines will continue to support the parties to successfully negotiate and proceed to import the Dacovac ASF-2 African swine fever vaccine into the Philippines for testing. If successful, the Dabaco Group's African swine fever vaccine product, along with the African swine fever vaccine product researched and produced by AVAC Company, will officially dominate the Philippine market.
