Take the people's interests as the goal to strive for yourself

Like many young men in the Ha Son countryside, in 1997, young man Le Thanh Nhan joined the army. Having completed his sacred duty to the Fatherland, in 1999 he was discharged from the army and returned to his hometown to take on the role of secretary of the Giang Son 10 village youth union. After more than 9 years of dedication to the youth union movement of his hometown, in 2008 he was assigned to be a police officer in Ha Son commune. Upholding the tradition, worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers, he not only completed his assigned tasks well, but also actively and enthusiastically participated in emulation movements launched by the locality. Enthusiastic about the common work of the commune and village, he always received the trust and appreciation from the local Party Committee, government, cadres, party members and people. For that reason, in 2013 - when he was only 34 years old, he was elected by the party members of the Giang Son 10 village party cell to hold the position of secretary and the people trusted him to hold the position of village chief.

With the belief: "For the development of the homeland and taking the interests of the people as the goal of striving and dedication", in his position as Party cell secretary and village chief, he always upholds the pioneering and exemplary spirit in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, as well as assigned duties and responsibilities. At the same time, he is always close to and attached to the people and directly propagates and mobilizes people to actively participate in emulation movements in labor production, economic development, and join hands to build new rural areas and model new rural areas.

Giang Son 10 village has 116 households, with 495 people. In 2022, the cadres and people in the village will start building a model new rural area. To achieve this great goal, he and the Party cell met and agreed to issue a thematic resolution on "Building a model new rural area" and develop a program and plan to implement the criteria for a model new rural area. Along with that, the Party cell coordinated with the village executive committee to organize conferences to publicize the policy and plan for building a model new rural area so that people of all walks of life could know and participate in discussing and proposing contents that need to be done immediately.

Identifying this as his responsibility to the Party, the communal government, the Party cell and the people of Giang Son 10 village, he and the front committee, the village's political organizations have promoted propaganda work, mobilizing all people to actively participate in implementing the socio-economic development program, maintaining national defense and security and emulation movements in production and labor, joining hands to build new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas in the locality. The focus is on mobilizing people to join hands and respond to the movement of donating land for rural roads according to Resolution No. 13 dated February 2, 2023 of the Standing Committee of the Ha Trung District Party Committee; the movement to build bright - green - clean - beautiful residential areas launched by the Party Committee, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of the commune.

Through propaganda and mobilization, cadres, party members and people in the village have voluntarily agreed to contribute more than 1.3 billion VND to build and construct rural infrastructure. At the same time, they joined hands to plant more than 3,000 string of pearls as green fences on the intra-village roads; installed 36 high-voltage electric lighting poles, with a length of 2.5 km; built 1.5 km of new covered longitudinal drainage ditches in residential areas; renovated the campus of the cultural house, purchased exercise and sports equipment for the people. Thanks to the unification of "Party's will - people's heart", at the end of 2022, Giang Son 10 village was recognized as meeting the model new-style rural standards.

Along with the construction of rural infrastructure, he and the village leadership team also strengthened leadership and mobilized people to actively change the structure of crops and livestock, combined with exploiting land potential to build farm and family economic models for high economic efficiency. Accordingly, people in the village have converted more than 10 hectares of ineffective rice land to grow flowers, ornamental plants, peach trees and fruit trees, generating an income of 200 to 350 million VND/ha/year. In addition, he also coordinated with the commune farmers' association to support households to build 7 comprehensive family farms and 10 family gardens. Of which, the typical family garden of Mr. Le Van De growing peach trees for Tet brings in an income of about 200 million VND/year; the family garden of Mr. Tran Van Luong growing red bananas brings in an income of more than 150 million VND/year. With effective production, the average income per capita of the village has increased to 60 million VND/year and there are no more poor households.

With practical actions that bring benefits to the people and his homeland, Mr. Le Thanh Nhan is not only a typical example of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, but also an active factor in the model new rural construction movement of Ha Son commune.
