Although a small country with an area of 163,610 km2 and a population of about 12.5 million people, Tunisia is one of the most dynamic and competitive economies in the African-Arab region, deeply integrated internationally, and conveniently located near Europe (140 km away). Tunisia has participated in 8 multilateral and bilateral free trade agreements (FTAs). Therefore, this can be considered a gateway for goods from countries, including Vietnam, to penetrate the African and Arab markets, especially the North African region. Each year, Tunisia needs to buy 30,000 tons of raw coffee (mainly robusta) and 30,000 tons of rice. Basic commodities such as rice, sugar, coffee and green tea are exclusively imported by the Tunisian Trade Department through international bidding.
According to data from the International Trade Center (ITC), Vietnam - Tunisia trade turnover in 2024 will reach about 100 million USD, an increase of 11% compared to 2023. Vietnam's main exports to Tunisia are footwear and raw materials, accessories, phones, printed circuit boards, printers, coffee, pepper, cashew nuts, coconut rice, seafood, electrical and electronic products, fibers and cables, electrical transformers, clothing, fabrics, plastic raw materials, carboxylic acid... Vietnam's imports from Tunisia include seafood, machinery used in medicine, surgery, dentistry, animal feed powder and raw materials, dates, figs, cotton, plastic raw materials, leather, textiles, etc.
The Vietnam Trade Office in Algeria respectfully invites businesses interested in the Tunisian market to register to attend by sending information (including company name, address, field of operation, specific import-export needs, and participants) to the Trade Office's email address [email protected]. The registration deadline is April 16, 2025. The Trade Office will send the link and password to access the Workshop before the event date.
