Proposal to build a camera system to monitor traffic order in Son La province

Son La Provincial Police have just submitted a document to the Provincial People's Committee regarding funding support for the investment project of a security camera system to monitor traffic order and safety in Son La province.

Accordingly, in the period of 2025-2030, the whole province will install 60 surveillance cameras to handle traffic safety violations in districts and cities; 12 speed measuring systems in districts and cities along National Highway 6 and a monitoring and operation center. The total expected investment is 96.4 billion VND, of which the Ministry of Public Security's budget is 36 billion VND, and the Son La provincial budget is 60.4 billion VND.

Currently, the installation of camera systems to ensure traffic safety and order, combined with cold fines, has been implemented by the Ministry of Public Security and many provinces and cities across the country. This is an effective measure to reduce violations, raise public awareness, and create a public and transparent legal corridor in handling violations of road traffic safety and order, especially in the context of no longer having district-level police.
