The Vienna Chamber Orchestra as well as conductor Harald Krumpöck and cellist Péter Somodari treated the Hanoi audience to two extra pieces of music.
The Vienna Concert took place on the evenings of November 23 and 24 at the Ho Guom Theater in Hanoi. This was the second time the Vienna Chamber Orchestra performed in Vietnam. The event is part of an annual international art program organized by the Ho Guom Theater to inspire classical music to Vietnamese audiences. In this concert, in addition to the orchestra, there were also conductor Harald Krumpock and cellist Péter Somodari.
Vienna Concert 2 Hours of Joy
According to the script, the Vienna Concert includes Symphony No. 73 in D major The Hunt Hob. I:73 and Concerto for cello and orchestra in C major Hob. VIIb:1 by F. J. Haydn. In addition, there is Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major D 485 by F. Schubert; Sounds of Spring (Frühlingsstimmen Waltz op. 410) composed by J. Strauss. In which, Symphony No. 73 is the work that FJ Haydn composed after meeting Mozart. This is a new and adventurous work at the time of its creation (1781). In this work, the ending made a strong impression on the audience like a whirlwind of several minutes long, reminiscent of hunting trips resonated by majestic, intense sounds. With Sounds of Spring by J. Strauss, the artists led the audience into the atmosphere of the Viennese countryside, one of the most beautiful pieces of music in the history of world classical music. The concert lasted about 2 hours. The audience was able to explore Vienna's classical music heritage through typical authors: FJ Haydn, F. Schubert, J. Strauss and Strauss Sohn. The applause was endless. In response to the affection of the Vietnamese audience, the international artists "treated" the audience to two more pieces outside the program, which were Tritsch tratsch and Banditen Galop by Strauss Sohn. The Vienna Chamber Orchestra, founded in 1946, is one of the world's leading and finest chamber orchestras. The orchestra has toured internationally in countries such as Japan, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Belgium and Morocco, and this is their second time performing in Vietnam. The last time, in 2022, the orchestra came to Vietnam to perform at the Toyota Classical Night.
