Voice of Vietnam opens the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2024

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Do Tien Sy - Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) highly appreciated the book exhibition of the VOV Library and the Editorial Secretariat; emphasizing that this is a meaningful activity to encourage and develop the reading movement among cadres, reporters and editors of the entire station.

The General Director also requested the Editorial Secretariat and the VOV Library to increase the collection and addition of valuable books to the entire station's archive, especially books on journalism as well as works by the station's journalists, to help the station's journalists, officers, reporters, editors, and staff in their research and document research.

According to poet Tran Dang Khoa, books are a spiritual cultural product that plays a very important role, providing us with an endless source of knowledge, guiding us towards noble human values. And reading has become an indispensable need of every human being. In any era, people take learning, and reading books is one of the ways to perfect human personality, to progress in personal life and contribute to the general development of society.

In particular, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, VOV Library introduces and displays the latest book series from Lien Viet Bookstore, including 24 books recreating the Dien Bien Phu Campaign from many perspectives, helping readers once again see the great stature and enormous influence of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory on the Vietnamese people and progressive humanity around the world.

It is known that the VOV library currently holds more than 10,000 research books, documents, literary works, especially many books on journalism and works by VOV journalists.

Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day contributes to building a spiritual and cultural life, promoting the nation's moral values ​​and tradition of learning. This year, Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day brings 4 messages: "Good books need readers"; "Precious books for friends"; "Give good books - Buy real books"; "Good books: Eyes read - Ears listen".
