According to the previously reached agreement, from 7:00 a.m. on November 24 (around 12:00 p.m. Hanoi time), the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas officially took effect, and all localities in Israel no longer had any danger alerts.
Due to the safer travel situation, the Embassy's delegation coordinated to organize a meeting at the home of Ms. Hong Shuranys, Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Association in Israel, currently living in the city of Netanya, central Israel. The delegation visited the health, living situation, work and psychology of the people during more than 1.5 months of war. Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Ly Duc Trung said that since the conflict broke out, this was the first time the Embassy had the opportunity to meet directly with many people, although online meetings were held regularly. The Embassy always attaches importance to citizen protection work and is pleased to see that so far, the people are still safe, have a spirit of solidarity, support and encouragement for each other during difficult times. Attending the meeting, Trung Cuong, a student living in the Ramot area of northern Israel, said: “Since the war broke out, the area where I live has only had one missile alert and all Vietnamese students are safe. Today, we are all very happy to be here to attend the meeting of the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel.” The Vietnamese community in Israel includes about 500 overseas Vietnamese residing permanently and nearly 200 students currently on a trainee program, along with a number of short-term workers. The overseas Vietnamese and trainees said that fortunately, none of them live near the war zone, so they are currently safe. Ms. Hong Shuranys said: “After 7 weeks of only meeting each other online, today we finally met in person, giving each other warm hugs. We had a friendly meal together to ask about, encourage, and comfort each other to continue moving forward. However, I hope the ceasefire will be extended and move towards a sustainable peace.” In recent times, the Embassy has coordinated with the Vietnamese Liaison Committee in Israel to continuously maintain information contacts, through groups on social networks and by residential area, to update people with the latest information on the war situation, security measures, as well as citizen protection policies in the country.
