Responding to VTC News reporters before the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko emphasized that Vietnam's organization of an international defense exhibition shows the world the capacity of the Vietnam People's Army as a fighting army, a working army, a production labor army and the 4-no defense policy.

Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko said that the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is very important because it is held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.

During those 80 years, Vietnam's military-technical cooperation with the Soviet Union, the country from which the Russian Federation inherited its position, was one of the very important factors that made Vietnam's defense strength strong enough to maintain independence, completely liberate and unify the country.

This year's exhibition also takes place in the context of Vietnam preparing in all aspects to enter a new era - the era of national development, in which Vietnam attaches great importance to continuing to strengthen and expand international cooperation to develop a modern, dual-use defense industry to contribute to the country's modernization.

"Organizing the exhibition shows the world the functions of the Vietnam People's Army as a fighting army, a working army, and a production labor army," Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko affirmed.

According to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Vietnam, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition, held every two years, creates opportunities for manufacturers and suppliers of defense-security products and solutions from around the world to exchange experiences and enhance cooperation.

The organization of the exhibition demonstrates Vietnam's policy of being a friend to all countries, contributing to creating a peaceful environment, cooperation and development. Along with the opportunity to promote defense products produced by Vietnam and promote cooperation to contribute to the development of the domestic defense industry, the introduction of Vietnamese culture, country and people through the exhibition creates a unique feature for this event.

“We see that Vietnam has invested a lot of intelligence, strength and material resources to prepare to organize the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 on a larger scale than in 2022. The content of the exhibition is very rich, from displaying and introducing the latest equipment and technology for the air force, navy, army, communications...; the participation of hundreds of businesses, dozens of international delegations to technical seminars and business connections.

The content and organization of the exhibition, especially the participation of international delegations from many different countries, clearly demonstrates Vietnam's "4 no's" defense policy: No participation in military alliances; no alliance with one country to fight another; no allowing foreign countries to set up military bases or use territory to fight against other countries; no use of force or threat of use of force in international relations," Ambassador Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko stated.

The Russian Ambassador to Vietnam also highly appreciated the capacity of the Vietnamese defense industry in applying modern technologies through cooperation with foreign partners, while at the same time researching and developing weapons and technical equipment, in order to meet the goal of building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern Vietnam People's Army by 2030.

Ambassador Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko emphasized that Vietnam's defense industry is being developed in a modern, dual-use direction, becoming the spearhead of the national industry, thereby making an important contribution to the goal of Vietnam becoming a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030.

Ambassador Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko affirmed that as a strategic partner and comprehensive partner of Vietnam, having had a close defense cooperation relationship with the Vietnam People's Army over the past 80 years, the Russian Ministry of Defense has actively participated in the international defense exhibition organized by Vietnam since the first time in 2022.

This year, Vice Admiral Alexander Igorevich Peshkov, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, will lead the delegation of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Many leading enterprises of the Russian defense industry participated in the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, such as: Almaz-Antey, Concern Granit-Electron, High Precision Weapons, Concern Sozvezdie, Typhoon, Rosoboronexport, Concern Kalashnikov... with displayed products including Rubezh-ME, Kornet-E, X-35UE missiles, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles.
