On March 12, US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper informed the press about the 10th Select USA Investment Conference in June in Washington DC.
The Select USA Investment Conference is an event for foreign investors from all over the world who will come to the US to seek and explore investment and cooperation opportunities. Here, they will have the opportunity to meet with US economic development organizations and US political leaders.
This year’s conference was held from June 23-26, with the participation of more than 2,000 people from 83 economies, including Vietnam. The US government fully supports investment and creates the most favorable conditions for investors.
The Ambassador shared that last year was a great time in Vietnam-US relations when up to a quarter of the US cabinet members visited Vietnam, including the US Secretary of State and President Joe Biden.
In September 2023, President Joe Biden and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong announced the upgrading of the two countries' relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The US Ambassador emphasized that this is a great achievement for the two countries and 2023 is also the most successful year in bilateral relations since the two countries normalized relations.
With the achievements of 2023, Ambassador Marc Knapper said that 2024 is also "an equally great year" when the two countries concretize the commitments that the leaders of the two countries have achieved and made in the joint statement to upgrade relations.
Speaking about the Select USA investment event organized by the US Government, the Ambassador said that this is an opportunity to implement these commitments. The event has entered its 10th year and Vietnamese enterprises have participated since 2016.
US Ambassador Marc Knapper said that last year and this year he had the honor of leading the Vietnamese business delegation to attend.
"The conference will be attended by the US Government including Mayors, members of the Government, economic development organizations... This will be a great opportunity for businesses and investors to discuss and learn about investment opportunities. There is no better opportunity than this," US Ambassador Marc Knapper invited Vietnamese investors.
Vietnam and the US are currently focusing on cooperation in the high-tech sector. At Select USA, there will be an event for startups and technology companies.
Not only in the field of information technology, the Ambassador said, Select USA is also an opportunity for investors to learn about the fields of hotels, tourism, healthcare, energy...

During the 4 days at the conference, companies can effectively connect and collect the information they need to start the process of developing their business in the US, everything they need to know is gathered here.
The United States has been ranked as the number one global destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) for more than a decade and now receives more FDI than any other country in the world.
Last year, the US diplomatic mission in Vietnam brought 30 business representatives looking for business opportunities in the US to attend the conference.
