Attending the meeting were representatives of Heroic Mother of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Thy; Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Van Nam; leaders and former leaders of Dai Loc district and Quang Nam province through the periods; generals through the periods, who are the children of Dai Loc homeland; leaders of the district and departments, organizations, communes/towns.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Hao - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dai Loc district emphasized that the armed forces of Dai Loc district were established on August 28, 1945. During the process of formation and development, the district armed forces have always been worthy of being a trusted force of the Party Committee and people of the district, joining hands with the provincial armed forces to promote the glorious tradition of the homeland of Quang Nam, contributing with the whole district, the whole province and the whole country to make the great victory of the historic spring of 1975.
At the end of the war, Dai Loc district had 7,453 martyrs; 42 heroes of the People's Armed Forces, including one hero of the People's Armed Forces who was still alive; 967 wounded soldiers, including 27 wounded soldiers with a disability rate of 81% or higher; 253 sick soldiers, including one sick soldier with a disability rate of 81% or higher.
The whole district has 107 resistance fighters and their children who were infected with toxic chemicals; 210 people who helped the revolution; 466 resistance fighters who were imprisoned by the enemy; 939 relatives of martyrs receiving monthly preferential allowances. Notably, the locality has 1,609 heroic Vietnamese mothers, currently 37 of whom are still alive. With their resounding achievements, on August 9, 2000, the Dai Loc district armed forces were honored for the second time by the Party and State with the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the Renewal Period".
“This is an opportunity to review the glorious tradition of the nation, promote the nature, fine traditions, and heroic feats of arms of the army and the armed forces of the district and province. Thereby, arousing national pride, self-respect, enhancing patriotism, love for socialism, self-reliance, self-reliance to overcome all difficulties and challenges, striving to build a national defense combined with a strong people's security, building a strong, compact, and elite armed force to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new revolutionary period" - Mr. Nguyen Hao emphasized.
