Da Nang: Economic scale and growth continue to expand

DNVN - After 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW of the Politburo (12th tenure) on building and developing Da Nang city to 2030, with a vision to 2045, the economic scale of Da Nang city continues to expand. In particular, labor productivity is higher than the national average and the highest in the region (reaching 211.8 million VND/worker).

Speaking at the conference to review 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW of the Politburo (12th tenure) on building and developing Da Nang city to 2030, with a vision to 2045 (Resolution), on the afternoon of March 13, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang said that after 5 years of implementing the Resolution, the city's socio-economic development has achieved a number of important results.

Da Nang's economy has developed. The economic scale continues to expand, economic growth is maintained. Growth quality is improved with labor productivity higher than the national average and the highest in the North Central and Central Coast regions (reaching 211.8 million VND/worker).

The level of economic concentration is increasingly high, 3.4 times higher than the whole country. The economic structure is shifting towards modernity with the proportion of service and industrial sectors accounting for nearly 90% of the total product (GRDP) in the area. Some industries and sectors have developed quite well, especially trade, services, and sea tourism.

In particular, the space and potential of the marine economy of Da Nang city are gradually exploited and promoted effectively. The infrastructure system continues to be invested in a synchronous, focused and key direction. The city develops according to a modern compact urban model with an urbanization rate of 87.45%, the highest in the country.

Up to now, Da Nang has successfully implemented the urban government model. The pilot implementation of the urban government model in Da Nang has shown its superiority. Thereby, the city boldly proposed to the Central Government to consider allowing Da Nang to officially apply the urban government model in the near future.
