General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's book: Promoting solidarity and preserving Vietnamese identity

Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe, shared: The book by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: "Promoting the tradition of great national solidarity, building our country to be increasingly rich, civilized and happy" needs to be seriously studied, summarized, and lessons drawn; thereby, contributing to raising awareness, creating consensus, and strongly arousing patriotism.

The Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has just coordinated with the National Political Publishing House Truth to organize the publication of the book "Promoting the tradition of great national unity, building our country to be increasingly rich, civilized and happy" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. The book has demonstrated the consistent thinking of the head of our Party on building and promoting the great national unity bloc, demonstrated through the rich implementation, with very close and specific guidance of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for each class, stratum, organizations, Vietnamese people in the country and Vietnamese people abroad. On this occasion, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe, shared some opinions on this book.

Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang said that the book launch is more meaningful when it takes place on November 18 - the traditional day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, on the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

With an overview and 75 typical speeches, articles, speeches, interviews, letters, appeals along with 142 typical photos vividly reflecting the General Secretary's visits and work in localities and bases of 63 provinces and cities. The book's content is divided into 3 parts: Great national unity - Endogenous strength, the decisive factor for the victory of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; promoting the core political role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, contributing to the successful implementation of the country's socio-economic development goals; promoting the role of all classes of people and localities, contributing more to the cause of national renewal.

Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang is interested in the content of the first part, including an overview article and four speeches by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the 8th Central Conference of the 13th tenure, the 90th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the National Conference to deploy the Action Program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Accordingly, at the 90th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam National United Front - the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the General Secretary said: “National great unity is a strategic policy, of vital significance, deciding the success or failure of the revolution, and is the red thread running through the revolutionary strategy of our Party. As a vivid symbol of the ideology of national unity, the Fatherland Front needs to mobilize and promote better the role of uniting all classes, highlighting the role of outstanding individuals among compatriots, ethnic groups, religions, and overseas Vietnamese”. This shows that, both domestically and abroad, the spirit of national great unity is always considered a vital task by our Party. For the overseas Vietnamese community, our Party always pays attention to and closely directs the work of connecting and motivating outstanding individuals so that they increasingly turn to their homeland.

According to Mr. Thang, the tradition of great national solidarity is the core factor in building an organized, unified Vietnamese community with an increasingly high position in the host country. Thanks to the spirit of great national solidarity, each Vietnamese person abroad understands more about the importance and strength of connecting and coordinating in all activities of Vietnamese associations in the region. Since then, the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe was established in 2016. Through two Congress terms, the Union has gathered Vietnamese associations from 23 European countries; at the same time, successfully promoted the establishment of the Union of Vietnamese Youth and Student Associations in Europe in November 2021, and the Union of Vietnamese Women's Associations in Europe in September 2022. Both organizations are member associations of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe; was established with the desire to build a Federation of Vietnamese Associations in Europe operating according to the Front model.

As a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang realized that in the common home of the great national unity bloc, especially for the Vietnamese community working and living abroad, the spirit of great unity plays a positive role, is a source of motivation for people to integrate better in the host country but still preserve the Vietnamese national identity, promote the image of the country, people, good customs, practices, and Vietnamese cultural traditions to the local government and people. The book contains profound lessons on solidarity, the strategy of great national solidarity, towards the goal of "Building a peaceful, independent, unified, territorially intact Vietnam, increasingly rich, prosperous, civilized, happy, striving by 2045, our country will become a developed country, with high income as a common point, to motivate and encourage all classes of people, mobilize all resources, seize all opportunities, and the people's contributions to successfully carry out the task of building and defending the Fatherland". Building great national solidarity is the responsibility and goal of the entire Party, the political system and the entire society, every Vietnamese person, wherever they are. If we can promote the consensus of the people; the joint efforts and unanimity of the entire people, every task will be successfully completed.

Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang said that the book by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: "Promoting the tradition of great national solidarity, building our country to be increasingly rich, civilized and happy" needs to be seriously studied, summarized and lessons drawn; thereby, contributing to raising awareness, creating consensus, and strongly arousing patriotism. The book needs to be considered a guideline to continue promoting the tradition of great national solidarity both at home and abroad.
