The success of the August Revolution in 1945 was the first great victory of our people since the Party's leadership, opening a great turning point in the history of the Vietnamese nation. The government was in the hands of the people, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born, ending more than 80 years of our people living under the yoke of colonialism and fascism. The Vietnamese people changed from being slaves to being citizens of an independent country, masters of their own destiny. Vietnam changed from a semi-feudal colony to an independent, free and democratic country. The Communist Party of Vietnam became a ruling party. From here, the country, society, people and people of Vietnam entered a new era, an era of national independence associated with socialism.
Since the historic autumn of 1945, under the light of the Party's and Uncle Ho's wise leadership and guidelines, the patriotism and strength of our Nation and People, which were fostered and ignited in the August Revolution, have continued to be highly promoted in the resistance wars against colonial and imperialist invaders, in the cause of national construction, innovation, and international integration.
The great victories and historical achievements of our country in the past 79 years, especially after nearly 40 years of implementing the national renovation policy initiated and led by our Party, are brilliant milestones, an immortal heroic epic in the glorious revolutionary struggle. From a poor, backward country with no name on the world map, Vietnam has become a developing country with average income. Currently, Vietnam is in the group of 40 countries with the world's leading economic scale. The country's foundation and potential are strong , its prestige and international position are increasingly enhanced.
Faced with the seething atmosphere of the August Revolution in 1945, together with the people of the whole country, the people of Ninh Binh under the leadership of the Party seized the opportunity, rose up together, carried out a general uprising, soon gained power, and brought the revolution to success.
Continuing the glorious historical and revolutionary tradition, in the current period, the Party Committee, Government and People of Ninh Binh province always uphold the spirit of solidarity, proactiveness, creativity, promote potentials and advantages; overcome difficulties and challenges, achieve important and comprehensive achievements in all fields. The will and aspiration to rise of the people of the ancient capital Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh is creating a strong transformation, from urban to rural areas, all are bursting with new vitality. Ninh Binh has become a beautiful, safe, friendly and attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
The province's economic scale is constantly expanding, with an annual growth rate of over 8%; from 2022, Ninh Binh province has balanced its own budget, with regulation of the central budget. Ninh Binh has become the center of the automobile industry and tourism of the whole country; to date, per capita income ranks 12th out of 63 provinces and cities.
In the coming period, Ninh Binh province has planned a development strategy based on its potential and advantages, focusing on developing in the direction of "Green, Sustainable, Harmonious". The province's determination is specified in the strategic goals and tasks according to the Ninh Binh Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Striving to basically achieve the criteria by 2030 and by 2035 to become a centrally-run city with the characteristics of a Millennium Heritage City, a creative city; an innovative startup center of the southern provinces of the Red River Delta.
The 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 is an opportunity for us to review the heroic revolutionary tradition of the nation; affirm the determination of the entire Party and people to promote the strength of great national unity, join hands and hearts, comprehensively promote the renovation process, and continue the glorious revolutionary path that our Party, President Ho Chi Minh and our people have chosen.
The spirit of the August Revolution will forever be the guiding torch, the source of strength to encourage and motivate cadres, party members and people of all walks of life in the province to strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges to successfully carry out the tasks of socio-economic development, strengthen national defense and security, build and rectify the Party and the political system to become increasingly clean and strong, contributing to building Ninh Binh province to become increasingly rich, civilized and modern, and the people to be prosperous and happy.
