The O Du ethnic group previously lived in Xop Pot, Kim Hoa, Kim Da communes, Nghe An province, but it was not until 2006 that they were resettled in Vang Mon village, Nga My commune, Tuong Duong district to give up land to build the Ban Ve hydroelectric plant.
The O Du ethnic group is one of the five smallest ethnic groups in Vietnam, along with the Si La, Pu Peo, Brau and Ro Mam ethnic groups in the country's 54 ethnic groups. The biggest change is that people know how to focus on developing production and livestock, especially paying attention to their children's education.
