Coordination between Farmers' Association and Hai Phong City Border Guard

The delegation visited and inspected the model of "Self-managed Ship Cluster Club" and the model of "Separating marine waste at source" of members and farmers in Vinh Quang commune, Tien Lang district.

Over the past years, Hai Phong Farmers' Association at all levels, in coordination with the Border Guard Station stationed in the area, has actively coordinated, propagated, and mobilized members and farmers to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and local working policies, and actively participated in the movement to protect the country's border sovereignty and security.

Every year, the Farmers' Association in Hai Phong city must build 20-25 self-management models. During the Lunar New Year, the City Farmers' Association annually organizes visits and presents Tet gifts to a number of Border Guard stations in Tien Lang, Kien Thuy, and Do Son districts; mobilizes and socializes to present gifts to member households, farmers, and people in difficult circumstances in localities implementing the program "Spring Border Guard warms the hearts of coastal people" to encourage members, farmers in coastal areas, and households in difficult economic circumstances to actively overcome difficulties, participate in developing household economy, increase production, and contribute to stabilizing the local economic - social - political situation...

Every year, the Association coordinates to support 600 mangrove trees for members and farmers in the area to plant in the mangrove forests of Dai Hop commune, Kien Thuy district, Ngoc Xuyen ward, Do Son district with the model "Farmers' row of trees to block waves"; build the model "Farmers and fishermen participate in classifying marine waste at the source" associated with protecting security and order and maintaining the "Self-managed boat cluster" club in the communes of Ngoc Hai, Van Son, Hai Son (Do Son district), Dai Hop, Doan Xa (Kien Thuy district), Vinh Quang (Tien Lang district), Cat Ba town (Cat Hai district).

At the same time, every year, the City Border Guard coordinates to propagate and disseminate the law in 618 sessions/4,279 vehicles/140,839,100 listeners; donates 2,856 legal books, 616 life jackets, 50 personal medicine cabinets to fishermen; mobilizes 5,488 people to sign a commitment not to buy, sell, transport, store, use firecrackers, weapons, explosives and supporting tools; donates 21,730 medical masks, 8,200 kg of rice/200 liters of cooking oil/60 toothbrushes/60 face towels/60 cartons of soft drinks and 172 gifts (worth 45,700,000 VND)...

Every year, the two units organize 7 peak campaigns to propagate and mobilize people to comply with the City's policy on relocating and clearing cages and rafts; dismantling guard towers; and tourism service works built in violation of regulations.

Through propaganda and mobilization work and through concrete actions, the awareness of farmers' association members and people has been raised; people have voluntarily handed over 132.9 kg of firecrackers; 54.9 kg of explosives; 65 detonators; 3.45 m of fuse; 51 homemade guns; 421 bullets of various types; 1 cluster bomb; 2 grenades; 3 electric batons; 1 pepper spray; 1 box of old grenades; 129 knives, spears, swords, homemade iron pipes; provided the Border Guard and functional agencies with 4,256 sources of information, of which 627 are valuable for the work of protecting sovereignty, border security, and fighting against all types of crimes.

Organizing propaganda on inland waterway traffic law, participating in propaganda activities for the contest "Farmers propagandizing road, rail, and water traffic law - Farmers' Associations of districts and towns in the coastal border area coordinate with Border Guard Stations to organize propaganda on the Law on Complaints and Denunciations, propagandize and mobilize farmer members and people to voluntarily comply with land allocation for projects in the district, thereby limiting mass complaints.

The Border Guard Stations of Do Son, Doan Xa, Vinh Quang, together with the Farmers' Association of Do Son district, Kien Thuy district, Tien Lang district, organized propaganda to mobilize people to participate in planting and protecting mangrove forests, raising awareness of storm and flood prevention and search and rescue, participating in planting wave-blocking forests in Doan Xa, Dai Hop (Kien Thuy), Ngoc Hai, Van Huong, Bang La (Do Son), Vinh Quang (Tien Lang) communes, etc.

This has created a strong movement of action, promoting the successful completion of political tasks of each unit, contributing significantly to socio-economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of farmer members and people.

Thanks to that, the solidarity between the two units and the people in the coastal border area has been strengthened, consolidating the solid People's Border Defense posture, the strong People's Border Defense foundation, firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the province's sea and island borders in the new situation.

Outstanding movements from coordination work have created prestige and trust not only for local Party committees and authorities but also have had a profound impact in supporting the local political system, contributing to political stability and social order and safety in the locality in recent times.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, in the coming time, the two units need to continue to promote the outstanding cooperation results of the past time.

In addition, it is necessary to overcome shortcomings and limitations, and focus on working with local Party committees and authorities to guide farmers in coastal and island border areas to promote effective economic models and develop new economic models. This contributes to local economic development, political and social stability, and maintaining national defense and security in coastal and island border areas of Hai Phong city.
