(CLO) On December 4, the Organizing Committee of the 2nd National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam in 2024 announced that at 8:00 p.m. on December 10, the 2nd National Press Award Ceremony on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam in 2024 will be solemnly held at the Opera House, Hanoi and broadcast live on Vietnam Television.
The 2nd National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam in 2024 is chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department and the Vietnam Journalists' Association; Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet Newspaper is assigned to coordinate with the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam - Agribank to directly organize the implementation.

According to the Organizing Committee, the new point of this year's award compared to the first year is that in addition to organizing the acceptance of entries for print and electronic newspapers, it also expanded the television and radio categories to all newspapers, radio stations, magazines... Therefore, after a short time of launching (from July 2024), the Organizing Committee received 1,950 valid works of various press genres from more than 200 central and local press agencies to participate in the award. Of these, 450 were printed newspapers, 900 were electronic newspapers, 350 were television, and 250 were radio/podcast.
The press award was attended by many authors who are reporters, editors, journalists from press agencies and radio stations nationwide; non-professional authors. Most major press agencies have many works participating in the award, typically: Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television - VTV, Voice of Vietnam - VOV, Vietnam News Agency, People's Army Newspaper, People's Police Newspaper, VnExpress Newspaper, Vietnamnet, Hanoi Moi, Urban Economy, Youth, Youth, Investment, Vietnam Agriculture, Hau Giang and Nghe An Radio and Television Stations... along with many local press agencies, Radio and Television stations of 63 provinces and cities; district-level radio stations.
After the selection process, the Preliminary Board selected 70 best works for the final round. Next, the Final Board independently judged, then met and selected 42 best works to award 2 A prizes, 4 B prizes, 6 C prizes, 10 Encouragement prizes and 20 Special prizes with a total prize value of up to 540 million VND.
Journalist Nguyen Van Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award said: “Incorporating comments after the first season, in the second edition, we have decided to expand the types and genres of journalism participating in the award. Specifically, in addition to print and electronic newspapers, the Organizing Committee has decided to expand the television and radio categories. These are two difficult categories, requiring time to view and carefully evaluate the content, but the Final Jury has worked enthusiastically, impartially and objectively. Thereby, 42 outstanding and most typical works of 4 types of journalism have been selected for awards”.
