Sharing on Chinese social media, on November 14, a father in Huainan (Anhui, China) said that his wife was shocked and had to be hospitalized after learning about her 3rd grade daughter's midterm math exam score. Because she made a mistake in a basic calculation, the girl only got 92/100 points. Knowing the reason why her daughter did not get 100/100 points, the mother was so angry and shocked that she fainted and was hospitalized due to lack of oxygen in the brain.

The story is receiving mixed opinions. While some people sympathize with the mother’s reaction, many others criticize her for placing too much importance on her child’s grades. As for the family, the father said that his wife reacted that way because she felt regretful and had higher expectations for her child.

After learning that her mother had to be hospitalized because of her exam score, the girl was so scared that she burst into tears and promised her mother that she would study hard and not make the same mistake. But what was even sadder was that she did not dare tell her mother that her English score was only 70/100.

Sharing with Sohu , a psychologist said that placing high expectations on children along with parents' poor ability to withstand pressure will cause unpredictable consequences. In the process of learning and growing up, if parents are too strict about achievements, it can be counterproductive. The mother's anger in this incident stems from her excessive worry about her child's achievements.

Previously, a parent in Nanyang (Henan, China) also fainted while teaching his first grade daughter. After repeatedly instructing his daughter to read syllables but still not pronouncing them correctly, the father became angry and could not control his emotions, causing a lack of oxygen in the brain, from which symptoms of vomiting, chest tightness and body tremors appeared. Immediately, the father had to be hospitalized overnight for monitoring.
