Vo Hoai Anh (born 2005) is the eldest daughter of Meritorious Artist Vo Hoai Nam and dancer Phung Lan Anh. Her brother – Vo Hoai Vu – played the role of Quang in the film Di giua troi ruc ro.
Hoai Anh graduated from the Intermediate level of Dan Tranh at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Currently, she is a student of Applied Music, Thang Long University.

In the project Hoa sua ve trong gio , Vo Hoai Anh plays Trang - Hieu's daughter (played by Meritorious Artist Ba Anh) - an intelligent and active girl. In a conversation with Dan Tri reporter, Vo Hoai Anh confided about his first role, his parents, and his thoughts and feelings at the age of nearly twenty.
“For me, my mother is a real “superwoman””
How did Vo Hoai Anh receive the mixed opinions of the audience about your first role in “Hoa sua ve trong gio”? Did you feel pressured?
– I am a new actor so it is normal for me to read audience comments regularly. I feel happy when I receive many comments from everyone about my role, whether it is praise, criticism or suggestions.
For example, some audiences say that I often frown, my mouth is still unnatural when reading lines, my facial expression is still a bit stiff, etc. I think that is true and will learn and try to gradually correct my shortcomings by learning from previous generations.
Of course, I have never been to an acting school, which is also a disadvantage. However, I like that difficulty and see it as a “positive pressure”, to give myself more motivation to act better.
Trang in the movie seems to have many differences from Vo Hoai Anh. Have you ever thought that if you were given a role similar to your real life when you first appeared on screen, you could "lift" yourself completely into the character, "acting as if you weren't acting"?
– I think, if I had a role that "sculpted" my personality in real life, it doesn't necessarily mean I would have done it well.
No matter what kind of role I play, I will try my best to conquer it, it's like living another life on film.
Trang and I have many differences but also many similarities. We are dynamic, cheerful, positive and emotional.
What comments or suggestions does Nam's father have about your acting?
– During the first days of filming, my dad always took me to the set and stayed to watch and support me.
Later, when he no longer had to "escort" me, at home, my father often guided me on how to grasp the character's psychology and emotions, and how to speak clearly.
My father often told me to see the soul of the character. Sometimes, you don't need much dialogue, just a look, a smile or a gesture is enough to express the character's emotions at that moment.
I have always been impressed by my father's ability to act with his eyes. To me, he is strict, fair and dedicated to his profession.
How did your mother react when her eldest son and daughter acted in VTV movies at the same time?
– My mother was very happy. Since I was a child, I have loved art. Therefore, my mother let me join the Ba Dinh District Cultural House Club when I was in second grade. I also got to perform in many shows.
I still remember, in 3rd grade, it was the first time I received a salary of about 50,000 VND from performing for artists and gave it to my mother.
In 6th grade, I started singing because I loved it. In 10th grade, I worked as a model for photo shoots and fashion shows and now I have earned a certain amount of money to be able to take care of myself.
I felt the happiness in my mother's eyes when she saw her daughter standing on stage, seeing her continuing her dream of becoming an artist.
Your mother gave up art and stepped back to take care of the family. How do you feel about her sacrifice?
– I think for someone who decides to give up their passion, it is a difficult thing to describe.
To me, my mother is a real “superwoman”. She can take care of everything, taking care of 4 children from childhood to adulthood without lacking anything. My mother is literally the person behind the halo of the 5 of us.
“I have not thought about using branded goods”
Among the brothers, who is Vo Hoai Anh closest to and talks to the most?
– The four of us are close and often share with each other. Some things I tell to Anh Seu (the nickname of Vo Hoai Vu – Hoai Anh’s older brother – PV), some things I confide in Huong Anh and Hoang Anh.
We usually have certain stories to share with each other. No one is the closest or shares the most.
You and your brother are said to be a copy of your father Vo Hoai Nam. Vo Hoai Vu shared that there was a time when he was impulsive and rebellious… What about Vo Hoai Anh?
– I used to be mischievous like a boy and liked to play with boys, but maybe because I am a girl, my thinking is different from my brother's. I am very close to my father.
I remember, when I was in 6th and 7th grade, I was slow in everything, plus the homeroom teacher called my parents to report that I was naughty at school. My father took a stick and hit me on the buttocks. That was also the last time my father hit me.
Until now, if something I do makes my parents sad, even if they don't scold me, I understand how terrible it is.
Young actors who act in VFC films have more opportunities to become famous. Maybe after a few films they will “level up” or have more advertising contracts. What do you think?
– For me, being able to act in my first film is luck, an opportunity and I have to seize it. I don’t know what the future holds, what will happen after this film, I just think about whether I have done well with the opportunity given to me.
Being famous or having an advertising contract, I really… never thought about it.
He has performed on stage since he was young, and now at the age of 19 he has his first leading role, is famous and has his own source of income. What is Vo Hoai Anh's opinion on using luxury goods?
– I really like the designs of loose, boxy sweatshirts and feel confident wearing them. Since 10th grade, I have determined my style to be a dusty dress but still with the highlight of crop tops.
Gradually, I started looking for places that sell secondhand goods to make my style unique. So, I haven’t thought about using branded goods or using branded goods.

Young, beautiful, talented and modern, surely Hoai Anh has many guys around her? What is your boyfriend's taste?
– I think, at my age, there were people who had feelings for me and vice versa.
But right now, I just want to focus on studying and acting. I haven't thought about my ideal boyfriend yet.
I don’t have any taste in choosing a boyfriend. I think it’s hard to find the right lover. If you do, you probably won’t be happy, because everyone has flaws.
