On December 31, 2024, Nguyen Thi Huong wrote a letter of resignation from rowing practice in Vinh Phuc. The reason given by the rower born in 2001 at that time was because she "had not received the medal bonus from domestic tournaments for 3 years (from 2022 - 2024) and the nutritional support money for 2024 from this province". At the same time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the provincial Sports Training Center also asked for help from Vinh Phuc province. But up to this point, the matter is still in waiting mode.
Nguyen Thi Huong is currently a member of the Vietnam Rowing Federation.
Putting aside her sadness, Huong is now practicing, with new goals for 2025. This rower has started practicing with the national team since February 3 in Hai Phong. She is practicing with the Vietnamese team, so she enjoys the player's regime according to regulations.

On February 17, Huong shared with Thanh Nien : "In 2024, I personally had some problems with my old unit in Vinh Phuc province. In 2025, I hope to find a new managing unit. From there, I can start over and create new achievements." At the moment, Huong is wearing the Vietnam Rowing Federation's shirt. In the near future, if there is no new unit, she will compete in domestic tournaments as a member of the federation.
The rower from Vinh Phuc said that her and her teammates' biggest goal in 2025 is the 33rd SEA Games. "We will still prepare well for the Asian tournaments, but the most important is the SEA Games at the end of the year. Personally, I aim to maintain my form and successfully defend the gold medal in the women's 200m singles. We also hope to win the gold medal in the women's 500m doubles, because the Vietnamese team could not win this distance at the 31st SEA Games on home soil," Huong affirmed.
