Accordingly, on the basis of receiving the state management function of vocational education from the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the network system of vocational education institutions in Ho Chi Minh City includes:
- Colleges: 63 units, including 50 schools with headquarters in the city; 2 branches and 11 schools with headquarters outside the city;
- Secondary schools: 64 units, including 56 schools with headquarters in the city; 1 branch and 7 schools with headquarters outside the city;
- Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center: 22 units;
- Vocational Education Center: 55 units;
- Vocational education facilities: 176 units.
According to the Department of Education and Training, this is the first professional meeting of the department with the system of vocational education institutions after receiving the state management function. The Department of Education and Training has assigned the responsibility of performing state management of vocational education to each department. Based on the functions and tasks, the departments will perform the state management function for the vocational education system.
To continue effectively implementing human resource training for the city, the Department of Education and Training requests colleges, secondary schools, vocational education and training centers, vocational training centers and enterprises participating in vocational education activities to maintain the stability of their operations. Continue the process of enrollment, training and granting degrees/certificates to graduates in accordance with current regulations.
For administrative procedures in the field of vocational education such as registration/additional registration of vocational education activities; recognition of the board of directors and principals of private schools will be carried out online at the Department of Education and Training (no pre-inspection of conditions for registration/additional registration of vocational education activities will be organized). Units will prepare documents based on the components of the dossier as prescribed in Decree No. 24/2022/ND-CP and submit them online at the city's Public Service Portal.
Also according to the leaders of the Department of Continuing Education and Vocational Training and Universities, for colleges in particular, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has not yet received guidance from the Ministry of Home Affairs on the authority as prescribed in Decree No. 84/2024/ND-CP, so the procedures for registration/additional registration of vocational education activities are not sufficient to be implemented at the Department of Education and Training...
