The Ambassador stated that the exchange of delegations and contacts through all channels has had a positive impact on the bilateral relationship in specific areas of cooperation. Emphasizing that Vietnam has made an important contribution to helping Cuba ensure food security, the Ambassador believes that the two sides will make new progress in this field with the signed agreements. During the visit to Cuba by General Secretary and President To Lam, the two sides assessed the contents related to economic and trade cooperation and promoted cooperation between localities to create new resources, contributing to deepening the bilateral relationship. The Ambassador emphasized that Cuba and Vietnam share the same views on many urgent issues in the context of the increasingly complicated world situation. The State visit to Cuba by General Secretary and President To Lam demonstrates that the two countries continue to support each other in responding to current challenges. Sharing about the milestones and outstanding achievements in the relationship between the two countries, the Ambassador emphasized that Cuba is the first country in the Western Hemisphere to establish full diplomatic relations with Vietnam. The two countries have always stood side by side, supporting and helping each other in the most difficult times. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam has sent Cuba important medicines and goods to serve the work of preventing and fighting the epidemic. Cuba also sent Vietnam many types of medicines and millions of doses of vaccines produced by Cuba. The Ambassador affirmed that this is a testament to the special friendship between the two peoples living half a world apart. According to the Ambassador, Vietnam and Cuba share many things in common, pursuing the same development path under the leadership of the Communist Party. The two sides have organized theoretical seminars to enhance the exchange of experiences and party building work. The two sides have deployed the activities of the Intergovernmental Committee; signed the Bilateral Economic Agenda. Relations between the National Assembly and the judicial agencies and the Supreme Court of the two countries have also been strengthened. The Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner of Cuba in implementing the policy of opening up the economy. Vietnam is currently Cuba's largest foreign investor and second largest trading partner in Asia. Vietnam and Cuba are looking forward to celebrating the 65th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2025. The Ambassador believes that the relationship between the two countries will continue to develop well.
