Professor David L. Rogers - the world's leading digital transformation expert
Successful digital transformation requires strategy and self-transformation.
With many years of in-depth research on digital transformation and experience in strategic consulting for the world's leading corporations such as: Google, Microsoft, CitiGroup, VISA, HSBC, Unilever, Toyota..., Professor David L. Rogers sees digital transformation as a long-term business transformation process to develop effectively in the ever-changing digital age.
According to this expert, the digital transformation process will certainly not be easy for businesses. Through research, up to 70 - 80% of digital transformation campaigns in businesses have not brought the desired results.
"No shared vision; no discipline in prioritizing; no habit of experimentation; no flexibility in management; and no growth in capacity are barriers to a business's digital transformation," shared Professor David L. Rogers.
To succeed in digital transformation, Professor David L. Rogers especially emphasizes two factors: strategy and self-transformation within the organization.
Regarding the digital transformation roadmap, Professor David L. Rogers proposed a roadmap consisting of 5 steps through personal research, including: identifying a common vision; selecting the most important issues; verifying new experiments; managing large-scale growth and continuously increasing capacity.
Speakers share digital transformation experiences at the workshop
Citing a series of successful and failed examples of "big guys" related to digital transformation such as CNN, Walmart..., the expert suggested: "Why not start with small experiments instead of focusing on plans that are too expensive and prone to failure? Scientists also often start with hypotheses, not with plans. We should also practice the habit of constantly experimenting with small experiments to learn lessons, which leads to success."
Vietnam has great potential for innovation.
Presenting a presentation on the topic "How to Think Bigger", Professor Sheena Iyengar, the world's leading expert on innovation and the art of choice, said that over the past 10 years, she has developed the method of thinking big. This is a method that can be applied to support general change for each individual, business and community.
Ms. Sheena Iyengar advises that individuals, businesses and organizations need to think "outside the box" and not follow the beaten path; at the same time, learn and reuse existing knowledge; thereby finding new and suitable "tactics". This is also the common path to success of many great people as well as "giants" in many different fields.

The female professor assessed that Vietnam has great potential for innovation. What remains to be done is to create the future and build the system.
According to Mr. Luu Trung Thai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MB, the workshop provided new perspectives on digital transformation and digital economy in the current context. The methods and practical lessons of the speakers can be quickly applied to the practice of building a national digital economy in general and the digital transformation strategy of each enterprise in particular.
The workshop is part of a long-term annual plan to bring methodologies and practical lessons from around the world to MB and its partners, thereby contributing to unleashing national resources for the process of creating a sustainable digital economy.
According to statistics from the State Bank, by the end of 2022, the banking industry had invested more than VND 15,000 billion in digital transformation activities and made Vietnam one of the leading countries in applying digital banking (40% growth rate in digital payments in the past 3-4 years).
