Citing the World Economic Forum, which published the "Future of Jobs 2023 Report", this expert said that the top 10 majors that will grow strongly in the coming time are experts in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Next are the following industries: sustainability specialist; business data analyst; cybersecurity analyst; financial technology engineer; data analyst and data scientist; Big Data engineer; robotics engineer; agricultural equipment operator; digital transformation specialist.
Along with that, Mr. Linh also pointed out the top 10 industries at risk of decline in the coming time, including: bank tellers and related positions; postal service staff; cashiers and ticket sellers; data entry staff; administrative assistants and executive secretaries; material recording, accounting and warehouse management staff; accounting, bookkeeping and payroll staff; legislators and civil servants; statistics, finance and insurance staff; home sales staff, street vendors and related jobs.
In particular, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the top occupations with strong growth prospects in recruitment over the next 10 years are data science (about 36%), with an average salary of more than 100,000 USD/year.
Next are the following industries: software engineer (nearly 18%); information technology analyst (over 16%); software and website development engineer, programmer, software quality tester (over 14%); software quality analyst and manager (nearly 12%); computer system analyst (over 10%); management consultant (over 10%).

With the above vision and career orientation, Mr. Linh believes that parents should have a specific roadmap for their children.
"If parents choose the wrong major for their children, it's like forcing a fish to climb a tree. If they don't climb well, they'll have to go back. For example, computer science is hot but there are still jobs in other majors. Don't force your children to work beyond their abilities. If your child has social strengths but forces them to study economics, it's like forcing a fish to climb a tree or a monkey to swim. It's ineffective," the expert humorously shared.
He affirmed that every choice of parents is very important to their children, and it is important to base it on each child's strengths.
Career consultant Duong Van Linh also believes that the three keys driving current job shifts are green industry, scientific and technological development, and economic prospects.
Regarding green industry, countries have raised the issue 7-10 years ago and currently American corporations are investing heavily in this field with green investment funds. For students, Mr. Linh advises, it is necessary to update information about AI as well as have experience.
Regarding the development of technology, in the US, service-related majors are simply eliminated. According to Mr. Linh's advice, if students choose business and finance majors, they still have opportunities, but they should study additional majors to have an advantage when they graduate and find a job.
For example, students studying finance and accounting can also study a minor related to business data analysis because if they only study one major, they will be at a disadvantage when applying for a job or having to go to graduate school.
"In short, students should balance their academic strengths and recruitment needs to choose a suitable career," said Mr. Linh.
