The admissions and career counseling fair taking place this morning, March 2, in Ho Chi Minh City attracted a large number of candidates and parents to learn about career information, high school graduation exams, and university admission regulations in 2025.

Come to the admissions consultation day to 'finalize' your major from grade 7

Tran Thanh Tuyen (student of Pham Thanh Trung High School, Tien Giang Province) shared: "I am very happy and excited, today's festival is very exciting. I got to meet many teachers, learn about many majors. In addition, I also played lottery games, asked for calligraphy words... We got to understand more about the majors we like, and learn about many different majors".

Having attended the admissions and career counseling fair last year, Vo Doan Hieu Duc (student of Go Cong Dong High School, Tien Giang Province) commented at today's fair: "I feel very excited, the atmosphere is also more bustling. This year there are many consulting booths of foreign schools to give students a variety of choices.

I was confused about choosing languages, multimedia communications and marketing. Going to a practical fair like this helped me know the admission process, the majors and the school's entrance scores. The fair helped us find out more information instead of searching online, and get our questions answered in the most accurate way," Duc shared.

Present at the festival, Mr. Nguyen Van Son (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) said he took his 7th grade daughter to visit the consulting booths.

"I saw that the organizers created a large-scale festival with many attendees. I took my child to learn more and he was able to choose the maxillofacial department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

This activity is very useful for students and parents, to go to exchange, visit and learn. Next year I will also go because each year there will be changes to get closer" - Mr. Son said.

Having also "finalized" her major, Nguyen Thi Thao Quyen (student of Nguyen Quang Dieu High School, An Giang province) happily said: "Today's festival was very exciting and bustling. I chose the foreign economics major and received thoughtful and enthusiastic advice from the teachers."

Starting at 4am, Nguyen Ngoc Xuan Thuy, an 11th grade student at Nguyen Dinh Chieu High School for the Gifted (Dong Thap) said that after hearing information about the admissions consultation day from Tuoi Tre newspaper, the homeroom teacher took the whole class to attend so that they could orient their school choices early.

Upon arrival, Thuy still felt confused because there were too many choices. However, Thuy had already identified a number of schools that she wanted to attend, from which she made a thorough plan for the future.

Meanwhile, despite having learned about universities through social networks, Kim Han, a 12th grade student at Industrial High School (Tien Giang) still has many concerns in choosing a major.

"I came here today to get more detailed advice, especially about tuition fees, to find a major that suits my family's financial ability," Han said.

Similarly, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, a 12th grade student at Chu Van An High School (An Giang), also expressed concern about not fully understanding the new circulars and enrollment policies of the Ministry of Education and Training.

"I came here hoping to receive specific answers about the admission regulations. Although I have already made my initial choice of university, I still want to learn more about other opportunities to have more admission options," Nhan shared.

Accompanying his daughter to the festival, Mr. Tran Van Con (64 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) said that his daughter is in grade 12 at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted. This is the third time he has participated in the Tuoi Tre newspaper's admissions consultation festival. Previously, his two eldest children were also brought here by him, received careful consultation and chose suitable careers, and are now preparing to graduate from university.

"This year's festival is more spectacular than previous years, and universities have also invested more. This is a very useful event for students who are considering their career," he commented. At the festival, he personally went to find out about universities that offer business administration training to give his children more options.

Robot dog "stirred up" the festival

The robot dog programmed on the UGOT platform - a versatile and creative robot kit that allows users to build and program many different robot models - left a lot of excitement for the contestants attending today's festival.

Able to interact and follow some basic commands requested by the person opposite, this robot dog is the product of a group of students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology.

Student Nguyen Minh Quang said the team programmed the robot to move along lines, avoid obstacles or perform actions such as bowing, jumping or spinning.

Additionally, robots can recognize images and objects using AI, helping them distinguish faces, identify objects, or follow a moving object. Students can also program robots to receive voice commands, respond through sound or movement, and even develop a mini virtual assistant.

Student Ho Minh Phung shared that the group is experimenting with more machine learning algorithms, optimizing movement or simulating the reactions of robotic animals. In addition, robots can also be programmed for entertainment such as playing music, dancing to the beat or creating interactive mini-games.

"This is a way for students to apply technological knowledge into practice, from AI research to creative product development," Phung said.
