For the first time being selected as one of 62 outstanding workers to go on a 5-day, 4-night trip abroad, Mr. Mai Dinh Huan felt extremely honored and proud that his contributions were recognized by the Board of Directors of Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company.
Mr. Mai Dinh Huan, born in 1977, Head of the Electricity Team from Ha Tinh, started working as a worker for Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company (Lam Thao district, Phu Tho) in 2000. Up to now, he has worked at this factory for 24 years.
Every day, he and 10 members of the Electromechanical Team are responsible for "taking care" of the entire electrical system of the NPK production line in an area of 10,000 square meters. It is known that this line was invested by Supe Lam Thao in 2017 with a total capital of 320 billion VND.
Every day, Mr. Huan and his team members have to check and supervise the smooth operation of the production line, ensuring smooth operation. It is somewhat true that it is boring because the work is repeated every day, but the pressure is no less because he is responsible for ensuring that the machine operates without any problems or errors.
Therefore, when he learned that his name was on the list of 62 outstanding workers traveling to Singapore and Malaysia, Mr. Huan felt extremely happy. "This is the first time I have been abroad, so my feelings are hard to describe. I feel both honored and happy because the company has sent me to visit, learn, and explore abroad. That 5-day, 4-night trip, we visited many places, and the company provided all meals and accommodation. It cost each person 20 million VND. If I had paid out of my own pocket, I don't know when I would have been able to go abroad," Mr. Huan told Dan Viet reporter.
The first time he set foot in Singapore, Mr. Huan and everyone were amazed to visit the natural wonders and famous architectural works in the richest and most civilized country in Asia.
"The trip opened our eyes, everyone was excited. Singapore is truly magnificent, completely different from what we imagined in the movies. We interacted and took a lot of photos, and when we got home, everyone wanted to tell everyone about our interesting experiences. I especially appreciate and thank the Supe Lam Thao Board of Directors and the company's Trade Union for organizing a wonderful trip for the workers," Mr. Huan happily said.
It is known that Mr. Huan is one of 62 direct workers selected according to the prescribed criteria with the number of people corresponding to the 62nd anniversary of the day Supe Lam Thao started production (June 24, 1962 - June 24, 2024). This trip has absolutely no leaders but only prioritizes the workers.
During those 62 years, Supe Lam Thao has always been known as the leading fertilizer enterprise in the North, not only supplying large quantities of fertilizers and chemicals to the market but also being a place with a very good working environment.
"The company's leaders always care about our workers' lives. In addition to increasing the amount of money for each meal (from 20,000 VND/meal to 25,000 VND/meal), just yesterday we were given a box of cordyceps and bird's nest to improve our health. Protective clothing is regularly replaced, and when we finish our shift, we can change and have the washing machine do the washing for us. Every morning when we go to work, we have clean, fragrant clothes to wear in the warehouse, and we don't have to worry about getting confused because everyone's name is embroidered on them.
Never before have company workers had such a standard of living. This is a great source of motivation that helps us feel secure in sticking with the factory," Mr. Huan said resolutely.
Currently, Mr. Huan receives an average monthly salary of 10 - 12 million VND, his wife works at the commune People's Committee. He and his wife have 2 children, the older one is studying at Hanoi National University; the second one just passed the entrance exam to Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted.
"In the 24 years I have been working here, there have been ups and downs, there were even times when the factory was facing difficulties so I wanted to move elsewhere. But fortunately, recently the Board of Directors of Supe Lam Thao has continuously changed its production and business strategy, bringing in good revenue, ensuring income and living conditions for workers, so I, like everyone else, love the company and want to stay long-term. It can be said that Supe Lam Thao is the best enterprise in Phu Tho province at this time" - Mr. Mai Dinh Huan shared.
With the same happy and proud mood when being chosen to travel abroad, Ms. Trieu Thi Sau, born in 1982, from Son Vi commune (Lam Thao, Phu Tho) said: "Last year, I was very happy when the company sent me to Thanh Hoa, this year I get to go abroad, which is something I never dared to think of. To be chosen among 1,850 workers and laborers of the factory, we had to go through 2 rounds of voting, and had to be loved and supported by everyone to be on the list."
During the 5-day, 4-night trip, Ms. Sau and everyone took a lot of photos as souvenirs, especially staying at luxury hotels and enjoying many unique dishes that they had seen for the first time in their lives.
"When we arrived in Singapore, we were all overwhelmed to see a rich, modern and extremely clean country. Although this was the first time we had traveled far away with everyone, we all felt connected and united with each other. Especially, the trip was organized very thoughtfully by the Board of Directors, ensuring safety" - Ms. Sau said.
Ms. Sau said that she used to work far from home as a factory worker. After getting married, she applied to work at Supe Lam Thao to be close to home and take care of her children. Currently, Ms. Sau is working as a warehouse keeper, in charge of the electromechanical materials section with nearly 1,000 items, including electromechanical products and labor protection products.
"I am the only one in charge of the warehouse, so the workload is quite large. Every day, in addition to distributing materials for repairs, I also have to control and arrange everything from input to output. Every quarter, I register items with the general warehouse according to the needs of the production lines, then gather them in the warehouse, classify them by category, and specific quantities, then distribute them to workers," Ms. Sau described her job, and said that her current income is quite high and stable compared to the general level in Phu Tho province.
"In recent years, the company has had young leaders with many ideas and continuous innovation, so the company has been doing well. Our workers are well taken care of, from meals to clothing, so everyone is excited to stay and contribute long-term," said Ms. Trieu Thi Sau happily.
This mother of three said that, in addition to her assigned work, she regularly participates in cultural and sports activities organized by the company. In particular, she won first prize in women's athletics and on October 20, she actively participated in the relay race organized by the Supe Lam Thao Union.
"Before, when I had to raise a young child, the company's leaders also cared for me and created conditions for me not to work the night shift. Later, thanks to my own efforts and the trust of the leaders, I was assigned to be in charge of the warehouse, paid insurance, and had regular health check-ups. And for the past 2 years, we have also been bought life insurance by the Board of Directors with a payout of over 100 million VND/year. Indeed, until now, I still think that working at Supe Lam Thao is my best choice" - Ms. Sau said.
Talking to Dan Viet reporter, Mr. Nguyen Quoc An - Deputy General Director of Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company said that the number of 62 people "rewarded" with the 5-day, 4-night trip corresponds to 62 years of establishment and development of Lam Thao Super Phosphate. The trip has created encouragement and inspiration for production competition for many workers at the unit.
"Currently, we have 1,850 employees working at the company. Previously, there was a period when fertilizer consumption was difficult, the average income per employee was only 6-7 million VND/month, gradually increased to 9-10 million VND/month and now has reached an average of 13-14 million VND/person/month. Each month, Supe Lam Thao's salary alone is over 20 billion VND" - Mr. An informed.
This is a commendable result, clearly demonstrating the company's production and business efficiency. The success of Supe Lam Thao comes not only from the stable jobs and income of workers, but also from the spiritual life of workers. The company continuously invests in, renovates and upgrades cultural and sports facilities to create a playground for workers to exercise and recharge after hard working hours.
