Việt NamViệt Nam04/11/2024

In the context of the Vietnamese maritime industry developing strongly and facing many challenges from the international market, training and developing high-quality human resources has become a key factor determining the success of enterprises. Recognizing this importance, Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC) has launched a staff training transfer program to improve the quality of human resources and practical experience, while contributing to strengthening the connection between the Corporation and its member enterprises.

The program will be implemented from May 5, 2024 to October 31, 2024, with the participation of 16 young cadres with development potential, from member enterprises such as Vosco, Hai Phong Port, Saigon Port, Quy Nhon Port, Da Nang Port, VIMC Shipping and Vinaship. These enthusiastic young faces are expected to become the nucleus to promote the development of VIMC in the future.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Program, Head of VIMC's Human Resources Department - Nguyen Thi Yen emphasized the importance of investing in human resources in the current competitive context: "The training transfer program is not only an opportunity for young staff to learn, but also an opportunity for VIMC to discover and nurture talents. These people will contribute to the sustainable development of the Corporation in the long term. Through this program, we have proven that investing in human resources is not only a trend, but also a vital factor for the sustainable development of enterprises in today's fiercely competitive era." The training content of the program is comprehensively designed, including an overview of VIMC, the management system, work processes and access to modern information technology. In particular, trainees will directly participate in handling practical work in specialized departments, under the guidance of experienced leaders and colleagues. A highlight of the program is the opportunity for young cadres to participate in working groups, inspect and evaluate VIMC's enterprises at member units. This not only helps them broaden their horizons but also creates opportunities for practical experience, contributing to the formation of overall management thinking. The program does not stop at professional training but also helps cadres understand more deeply about VIMC's corporate culture, thereby strengthening the connection between the Corporation and its member enterprises. After six months of participating in the program, the cadres have achieved many encouraging results. They have expanded their knowledge in professional work through practice and training from the Corporation. In addition, they have also practiced teamwork skills, planning, and organizing work effectively, and approaching VIMC's corporate culture. Notably, the cadres have accumulated a lot of experience in handling situations, helping them have a multi-dimensional view of the maritime industry and better understand how a large organization operates. Young staff who participated gave positive feedback about the program. Many considered it a valuable experience, helping them not only expand their knowledge but also practice through useful work challenges. Trainee Tran Quoc Nguyen from Da Nang Port shared: “The past six months have been an extremely valuable time for me. Not only have I learned a lot of new knowledge, but I have also had the opportunity to connect with colleagues from all over the VIMC system. This will definitely help me a lot in my future work.”

With the motto of putting people at the center, the program has contributed to building a dynamic, flexible and adaptable workforce to changes in the industry. This is especially important in the context of VIMC focusing on digital transformation and applying new technology in operations. In addition, the program also helps VIMC strengthen the relationship between the Corporation and its member enterprises, creating conditions for enterprises to share knowledge and experience. This is an important foundation for building a VIMC, closely linked, together towards the goal of sustainable development of the system. In the coming time, VIMC will continue to maintain and expand this program to not only build a strong workforce but also the basis for a comprehensive maritime resource development platform.
