On the morning of March 28, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province successfully organized the Investment Promotion Conference with the largest scale and stature ever. The conference attracted the participation of nearly 300 delegates from Government leaders, leaders of ministries and branches, economic experts and especially many large domestic and international enterprises.
At the investment promotion conference, leaders of Binh Dinh province shared about the province's outstanding potential and advantages, affirming their determination to accompany and support investors and businesses. This is demonstrated by the province's strong focus on developing transport infrastructure, seaports and logistics to facilitate economic and trade activities.
Regarding the transport infrastructure system, Binh Dinh province is implementing a series of key projects. The North-South Expressway, 118 km long, is expected to be completed in 2025, helping to quickly connect with neighboring provinces and cities. At the same time, the Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway in the East-West direction, about 123 km long, is also planned to start construction in 2025, creating favorable conditions for trade between Binh Dinh and the Central Highlands. In the field of aviation, the province and the Central Government are coordinating to upgrade Phu Cat International Airport to accommodate wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 747 and Airbus A321, aiming to become a regional air transport hub.
Along with road and aviation development, Binh Dinh pays special attention to the seaport system. Phu My Port is being built to become the central seaport of the province with a depth of over 22m, no sedimentation and the ability to receive ships with a tonnage of over 150,000 tons, expected to be completed in 2028.
As part of VIMC's strategy to invest in developing the ICD system in key economic regions, Vietnam National Shipping Lines has proposed to the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province to introduce a location for research and investment in a Logistics/ICD center. This project will play an important role in the effective gathering, distribution and circulation of goods, not only improving the province's logistics capacity but also in line with the orientation of logistics service development according to the Resolution of the 19th Binh Dinh Provincial Party Congress. The Logistics/ICD center is expected to attract goods from the Central Highlands, the East-West economic corridor, Central Laos, Northeastern Thailand and Myanmar, while strengthening connections with seaports and inland transport systems. Investment in this logistics center will contribute to promoting the local economy, creating jobs, increasing budget revenue and making Binh Dinh a strategic logistics center of the Central Highlands region.
At the conference, Binh Dinh provincial leaders granted investment certificates to 62 projects with a total registered capital of about VND321,000 billion. This is an important step affirming the province's investment attraction as well as its commitment to creating favorable conditions for business development. Deputy General Director Pham Anh Tuan represented VIMC to receive the memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation for the logistics center/ICD project.
Notably, Quy Nhon Port participated in the conference with an exhibition booth, promoting the potential and capacity of port exploitation. The exhibition area attracted many domestic and foreign enterprises interested in seeking cooperation opportunities, contributing to promoting maritime trade activities in the province.
With the investment promotion conference, Binh Dinh is expected to become an important economic-logistics center of the Central and Central Highlands regions.
