Certificate of Commemorative from the Ninh Binh Province Veterans Association sent to Mr. Pham Van Chinh on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the complete liberation and reunification of the country.

In 1972, when he was just 18 years old, Mr. Chinh decided to join the army, becoming a soldier of the Southern Liberation Army. This decision was not easy for a young man, but in his heart, patriotism and the desire for freedom overcame all fears. He set out with a strong belief in the cause of national liberation, even though he knew that the road ahead would be full of hardships and dangers.

“At that time, I only had one wish in my heart: for the country to be unified and for the people to live in peace. I didn’t think much, I just wanted to devote myself to the Fatherland,” Mr. Chinh recalled.

His words clearly show the spirit of a generation of Vietnamese youth who are willing to sacrifice for noble ideals, for the independence and freedom of the nation. That determination and patriotism is not only his own, but is always present in the hearts of many young people of the same generation, who did not hesitate to say goodbye to their families and homeland to join the great resistance of the nation.

Quang Tri Citadel is one of the important strategic areas, where many fierce battles took place between the Liberation Army and the American army. This is a land where every inch of land is stained with the blood of brave soldiers, where every tree and every river bears the mark of fierce battles.

The 81-day and night battle in Quang Tri Citadel is considered a real-life “fairy tale”, a story about the courage and indomitable fighting spirit of Vietnamese soldiers. Mr. Pham Van Chinh, one of the soldiers who fought there, always remembers those arduous days with pride and deep emotion.

During the days of fighting in Quang Tri Citadel, Mr. Chinh and his comrades had to face countless difficulties and challenges. Bombs, bullets, lack of food and medicine did not discourage them, but on the contrary, it further strengthened their fighting spirit and strong will. It was during the most difficult times that he and his soldiers demonstrated their team spirit, solidarity and high determination, all for the common goal of liberating the country.

Mr. Chinh recalled: “At that time, we lived under constant bombs and bullets, day and night without a moment of rest. There were times when we had to live in shelters for weeks, facing bombs and bullets and lacking everything. But team spirit and patriotism were always the motivation for us to overcome all difficulties and challenges, to protect every inch of our homeland.”

“Many of my comrades have fallen, they are true heroes. Every time I see a comrade die, my heart aches, but from that, my will to fight becomes stronger. I know that we are fighting not only for ourselves, but also for all those who have sacrificed, for the future of the country” – he recalled, trembling with emotion.

The memories of the fierce battles and the sacrifices of his comrades are forever etched in Mr. Chinh’s mind.
