According to Ambassador Jaime Francisco Rodriguez, over the past time, with the coordination and support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other Vietnamese departments and agencies, the Embassy has effectively contributed to the official visit to the Dominican Republic by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in November 2024, creating an important milestone, opening up many cooperation opportunities for both countries in many areas where both sides have strengths and can complement each other, such as agriculture, construction, telecommunications, science and technology. Along with that, the Ambassador also thanked Vietnam for supporting the restoration of the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the capital of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Along with the statue of Juan Bosch in Hanoi, these are symbolic works of friendship between the two countries.

The Ambassador affirmed that in the coming time, no matter what position he holds, he will continue to contribute to fostering the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, especially in 2025 when the two countries prepare to organize events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.

Agreeing with the assessments of Ambassador Jaime Francisco Rodriguez, President Luong Cuong affirmed Vietnam's consistent foreign policy of continuing to promote and strengthen relations with all countries, including Latin American countries and the Dominican Republic.

Emphasizing the role and position of the Dominican Republic in Latin America, the President stated that Vietnam wishes to develop comprehensive cooperation in politics-diplomacy, economy-trade, education cooperation, and people-to-people exchange, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability, and development in the two regions.

The President suggested that in the coming time, the two sides continue to exchange information on the need to promote and expand cooperation, and coordinate to concretize the agreements signed during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit in many fields, thereby deepening and diversifying bilateral cooperation.

The President said that bilateral trade between the two countries has developed in recent times, but is still not commensurate with the potential and strengths of each country, so the two sides need to coordinate to further promote economic, trade and investment cooperation.

On this occasion, through Ambassador Jaime Francisco Rodriguez, President Luong Cuong conveyed his regards, best wishes for health and an invitation to officially visit Vietnam to President Luis Abinader Corona at a favorable time.

The President believes that, with his affection for Vietnam, no matter what position he holds, the Ambassador will continue to be a bridge between the two peoples and make positive contributions to promoting the good relations between Vietnam and the Dominican Republic, especially in the year the two countries celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (July 7, 2005 - July 7, 2025).
