On the afternoon of January 22, a delegation of leaders of the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City led by Comrade Nguyen Thi Le, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City visited and congratulated outstanding collectives and individuals on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2024.
Visiting Security Group 2, Military Security Protection Department, General Department of Politics, comrade Nguyen Thi Le congratulated the unit on its achievements in 2023. Informing about the political security situation in Ho Chi Minh City continuing to be stable, she acknowledged the contributions of Group 2, General Department of Politics. On the occasion of the Spring of Giap Thin 2024, she sent her best wishes to the officers and soldiers of Group 2, General Department of Politics and their families for good health, happiness and peace.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Le and the delegation also visited Military Control Battalion 31, Ho Chi Minh City Command. In a warm atmosphere, Comrade Nguyen Thi Le visited the officers and soldiers working there. She congratulated Military Control Battalion 31 on successfully completing its mission in 2023, sent wishes of good health and peace to the officers and soldiers, and hoped that the unit would continue to strive to successfully complete its mission in 2024.
Visiting Tu Du Hospital, comrade Nguyen Thi Le spent a lot of time listening to the hospital's performance as well as the thoughts and aspirations of the medical staff of Tu Du Hospital. Accordingly, in 2023, Tu Du Hospital received and treated more than 1.1 million people (equivalent to 2019), of which obstetrics increased by about 40% compared to 2022 with 60,000 normal births and 40,000 surgeries; the total number of patients increased by 28% compared to 2022. Although the number of patients increased, the health care of patients and pregnant women was guaranteed by the hospital.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Le acknowledged and praised the achievements of Tu Du Hospital, especially the new methods and creative initiatives to improve the quality of service for people and pregnant women. She acknowledged the opinions and recommendations of the hospital's medical staff and said that in February 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council will organize a meeting with medical professionals to listen to the opinions and wishes of medical staff in order to have appropriate decisions in accordance with the actual situation. On the occasion of the Spring of Giap Thin 2024, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council wished the staff of Tu Du Hospital good health, happiness and peace.
On the same day, Comrade Nguyen Thi Le and the delegation visited, congratulated the New Year and wished Mrs. Do Thi Hai (Ward 8, District 10) on her 100th birthday. In a warm and sincere atmosphere, Comrade Nguyen Thi Le kindly asked about her health and encouraged her spirit, and presented a longevity letter from President Vo Van Thuong; and congratulations from the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to Mrs. Do Thi Hai. On the occasion of the upcoming New Year, the Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council wished Mrs. Do Thi Hai good health and longevity, to be a spiritual support for future generations to follow.
The Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City and the delegation visited Ms. Nguyen Thi Muoi (Ward 5, District 10), a war invalid, a resistance activist exposed to toxic chemicals, and a resistance activist imprisoned by the enemy. The comrade sincerely thanked and acknowledged Ms. Nguyen Thi Muoi's contributions to the resistance war to protect the country as well as her contributions to the development of Ho Chi Minh City.
Visiting the family of orphan Huynh Tuan Tu (born in 2016, in Ward 2, District 10), comrade Nguyen Thi Le asked about and encouraged Huynh Tuan Tu to strive to study hard to become a useful person for society.
At the same time, the delegation asked the local government and socio-political organizations to continue to support the family to overcome difficulties. Also in the afternoon of the same day, the delegation visited the family of Ms. Diec My Kim, a Chinese ethnic in Ward 4, District 10.
