According to Mr. Doan Xi, an employee of Bach Ma National Park (working here for more than 30 years), foreign tourists come to Bach Ma in the spring, while Vietnamese tourists often choose summer.

Following National Highway 1A from Hue is 40 km, or from Da Nang is 60 km, you can reach the turn to Bach Ma from Cau Hai, Phu Loc town, Phu Loc district, Hue city. Then, continue about 4 km, you will reach the gate of Bach Ma National Park, the first stop - the Visitor Center to do the sightseeing procedures.
Bach Ma National Park was established in 1991 and expanded in 2008, located on the administrative boundary of two localities: Hue City and Quang Nam.
Since the French colonial period, Bach Ma has been famous as an ideal resort because of the beauty of the subtropical rainforest and cool climate.

One of 6 national parks under central management (Ba Vi, Tam Dao, Cuc Phuong, Bach Ma, Yok Don and Cat Tien National Parks) - gardens with forest areas located in 2 or more provinces or centrally-run cities), Bach Ma National Park is nearly 37,500 hectares wide, has a diverse ecosystem with over 1,700 animal species, 2,400 plant species (accounting for nearly 17% of the total number of plant species in the country).
This season, the maple trees in Bach Ma National Park have changed color, adding to the charming scenery here.

Trekking through the forest, visitors will experience all kinds of "adventure games" from climbing - swinging - crossing streams... with the Five Lakes, when each lake is endowed by nature with a different beauty, both fierce and gentle, blending streams, rocks, flowers and forest trees.

Exploring Bach Ma National Park is also a "refreshing" journey when enjoying the wonderful natural environment.

Unfortunately, when we arrived here (mid-February), thick fog covered the top of Do Quyen waterfall, so we missed the opportunity to conquer nearly 1,400 steps (down and up), as well as admire the majestic beauty of this waterfall.

Along the way, it is easy to come across "friendly" signs with the verse "Here the Perfume River begins/Please do not leave trash on the road for long", or the message: "Animals will hide if they hear you. Walk lightly and observe carefully, you may see more of them"

Along with introducing the coelenterates in Bach Ma National Park, Mr. Xi also pointed out many types of medicinal herbs growing along the trails: the cu li hair plant (or kim mao cau tich, has the effect of stopping bleeding), the morinda plant (used as a medicine to treat high blood pressure, tonic), the one-flower leaf plant (treats snake bites, pneumonia...), the gotu kola stem and water spinach leaf plant (can be eaten raw, used as an anti-inflammatory...)

Mr. Doan Xi believes that ecotourism is not only to conquer challenges and overcome one's own limits, but also an opportunity to immerse oneself in nature to better understand the value of nature, love nature more and be more aware of protecting nature and the environment. And, those who have come to Bach Ma National Park will not be able to forget this memorable "slogan": Take nothing but beautiful pictures! Kill nothing but time! Leave nothing but footprints!".
