On the morning of January 17, Comrade Hau A Lenh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee, and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to prestigious people and poor households in Ta Van commune, Sa Pa town on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.
Joining the delegation from Lao Cai province were comrade Ly Binh Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; representatives of the provincial Ethnic Committee; and leaders of Sa Pa town.
Ta Van commune is one of the typical localities, leading in patriotic emulation movements and excellently completing the 2024 tasks of Sa Pa town. In new rural construction, Ta Van commune has completed 19/19 criteria; average income per capita reached more than 45 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate is 12.43%, near-poverty rate is 0.11%.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh acknowledged the achievements of Ta Van commune in 2024, especially in the field of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses; land management, construction order; and poverty reduction.
Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh hopes that Ta Van commune in particular and Sa Pa town in general will continue to promote the national cultural identity associated with tourism development, especially community tourism development; pay attention to and preserve natural landscapes, protect the environment; focus on forest fire prevention and fighting. The prestigious team will continue to promote their pioneering and exemplary role, as a bridge between the Party Committee, the government and the people. Ethnic people will work together to develop the economy, enjoy Spring and welcome a peaceful New Year.
On the occasion of the New Year, the Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee wished the Party Committee, government and people of Ta Van commune in particular and Sa Pa town in general a new year with many new victories.
On this occasion, Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh presented 215 gifts to poor households and prestigious people in Ta Van commune, each gift worth 1 million VND; presented 20 million VND to the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ta Van commune; presented 10 million VND to the Ta Van Commune Police.
On behalf of the leaders and people of the town, Standing Deputy Secretary of Sa Pa Town Party Committee Thao A Sinh respectfully thanked the Ethnic Committee, especially the Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh, for always paying attention to the ethnic people of Sa Pa town on the occasion of Tet and Spring.
Standing Deputy Secretary of Sa Pa Town Party Committee Thao A Sinh said that in 2024, despite many difficulties, the town achieved outstanding results, with a fairly good economic growth. State budget revenue reached 1,421 billion VND, continuing to maintain its position in the "Thousand Billion" club of Lao Cai province for 3 consecutive years; completing 100% of the plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, supporting and rebuilding houses for 553 households, with a total cost of more than 30 billion VND. In the construction of new rural areas, the town had 2 communes completing 19/19 criteria (Ta Van and Thanh Binh); Ta Phin completed 19/19 advanced new rural areas.
The town pays special attention to the work of taking care of the poor and families with meritorious services during Tet. Up to now, the town has presented 2,924 gifts to poor households and households escaping poverty on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of At Ty from the "Fund for the Poor"; visited and presented 2,920 gifts to groups, individuals, people with meritorious services to the revolution, poor households, and social protection beneficiaries.
Gifts given to prestigious people and ethnic minorities are a great source of encouragement, helping local people have a fuller and more prosperous Tet.
