According to Tuoi Tre Online , on the morning of January 28 (ie the 29th of the Lunar New Year), on both sides of Hai Ba Trung Street (intersection with Nguyen Hue Street, My Long Ward, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province), there were dozens of people selling yellow apricot branches.

Many people on motorbikes stopped by to buy apricot branches to display for Tet. Next to them, many people wearing traditional Vietnamese dresses came here to buy apricot flowers as well as take pictures and check-in.

Ms. Phuong Ngoc (living in Long Xuyen City) said that every Tet holiday, she often invites her relatives to the area selling apricot branches to take pictures and buy apricot branches.

"The buying and selling of apricot branches only takes place during a few days of Tet. It's like a 'mobile' apricot branch market here. Many people hold yellow apricot branches to invite customers, looking very lively. Buyers and sellers are both happy and rarely haggle over prices," said Ms. Phuong Ngoc.

Along with a group of friends wearing Ao Dai to take pictures at the apricot market above, Ms. Mai Thi (living in My Phuoc ward, Long Xuyen city) said: "Today is the 29th of Tet, there are many beautiful yellow apricot branches here, the atmosphere is bustling, I came here with the sisters in the group of friends to take pictures as well as choose apricot branches to display on Tet. This place is like a mobile apricot garden, very beautiful and lively".

Ms. Cao Hong (living in Long Xuyen City) and some of her sisters and nieces came here to take pictures and choose to buy apricot branches. "During Tet, I came here to take pictures and choose to buy apricot branches. Today the atmosphere here is very bustling" - Ms. Cao Hong said.

Some sellers of mai branches in the above area said that the buying and selling of mai branches during Tet this year takes place on the 27th, 28th and 29th of Tet, in which the buying and selling of mai branches is busiest on the 29th of Tet. Compared to last year, the number of sellers and buyers in the above area has decreased.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Nga (68 years old, living in My Hoa Hung commune, Long Xuyen city) said that she has been selling mai branches in the above area for more than ten years during Tet. This year, she and some relatives will sell mai branches on the 28th and 29th of Tet.

According to Ms. Nga, the number of people selling and buying apricot branches during Tet this year has decreased compared to last year, from 10 parts last year to about 7 parts this year.
