Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thu Lam, Vice President and Secretary General of FISU, assessed that the topics shared at AI4VN 2023 have practical and humane significance, reflecting the strong influence of artificial intelligence on life.

According to him, artificial intelligence in finance and health is a bright spot on the AI application map in Vietnam. Finance is a field with strengths in digital transformation and data availability, a large demand for AI applications and many domestic solution providers. Meanwhile, health is a field with very strict requirements and regulations for the application of new technologies such as AI. However, artificial intelligence has been applied in supporting disease diagnosis with Dr.Aid products, patient care such as Vibot... in Vietnam recently.

Associate Professor Lam said that generative AI is a hot trend today, and Vietnam is no exception. Although generative AI research has existed for many years, it really exploded when generative AI applications based on large language models such as GPT chat were born. This is also a new application topic that needs to be researched and properly oriented on the basis of absorbing the latest achievements to suit domestic conditions. The national strategy on research, development and application of artificial intelligence to 2030 has also clearly identified the importance of building a legal corridor for AI research and application in Vietnam. However, current practice really needs specific directions that require the cooperation of many stakeholders.

Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day 2023 is directed by the Ministry of Science and Technology and organized by VnExpress newspaper on September 21 and 22. The annual event aims to help the community and businesses better understand the application of AI technology in life and act as a bridge for ministries, departments, branches and businesses to discuss policies and methods to support AI development in Vietnam.
