(NLDO) – Not only bringing spring to poor families and orphans, the Spring Volunteers also celebrate a green Tet without plastic waste.
In the last days of the year, the "yellow shirt" soldiers set out to bring spring to all provinces and cities across the country. In Ho Chi Minh City, nearly 1,500 soldiers, students of Van Lang University (Binh Thanh District), pledged not to use plastic waste during the campaign.
During the departure ceremony, the soldiers pledged not to release plastic waste into the environment during the campaign.
Secretary of the Van Lang University Youth Union Pham Thanh Phuoc said that the school's Spring Volunteer Campaign will last from now until January 16. Nearly 1,500 soldiers will be divided into 6 teams with the task of taking care of Tet for certain subjects.
In particular, this year, Van Lang University soldiers will carry out the Green Tet campaign without plastic waste. In addition to building habits of environmental protection and green living in the student community, the soldiers also carry out propaganda works, waste classification projects, and guide people to recycle plastic items.
At Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics (District 10), more than 100 volunteer Spring soldiers have just left for two fronts in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City and Ben Tre province.

Nguyen Thi Phuong Nguyen, Commander of the campaign, said: "I am always aware that I must devote my youth to building my homeland, starting with the smallest tasks. However, my efforts alone are not enough, we need a lot of enthusiasm from students. The mission of a volunteer Spring soldier is to bring more warm and prosperous Tet to everyone. Soldiers from Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics will bring a meaningful, warm, and laughter-filled spring to the people of Ho Chi Minh City and Ben Tre province."
More than 500 soldiers participate in the program "Forever the flame of Tran Van On"
On the evening of December 22, at Cao Thang Technical College (District 1), the art program "Forever the flame of Tran Van On" took place, on the occasion of celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Tradition of Students and the Vietnam Student Association.
The art program is part of the 2025 Spring Volunteer Campaign organized by the City Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Student Association. Attending the program was Ms. Tran Thu Ha, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Student Association.
With meaningful activities, the program “Forever the flame of Tran Van On” has contributed to arousing pride in the history of the student movement. At the same time, this is an opportunity for students of Cao Thang Technical College to continue the glorious tradition - a place that has marked political events and patriotic movements.
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City will have about 70,000 young soldiers participating in the Spring Volunteer Campaign. The campaign will last from December 22, 2024 to January 28, 2025.
