(CT) - According to the Can Tho City Statistics Office, from July 2023, a number of new policies will take effect, such as increasing the basic salary; reducing value added tax by 2% on goods and services; reducing 50% of registration fees for domestically produced and assembled cars... This information will more or less affect the increase or decrease in the prices of goods and services. Accordingly, the consumer price index in July 2023 increased by 0.35% compared to the previous month and increased by 0.56% compared to the same period last year. The average consumer price index in the first 7 months of 2023 increased by 1.12% compared to the average in the same period last year.

In July, 8/11 main consumer goods and services groups had price indexes that increased compared to the previous month. Specifically, food and catering services increased by 0.2%; beverages and tobacco increased by 0.09%; clothing, hats and footwear increased by 0.13%; medicine and medical services increased by 0.68%; transportation increased by 0.21%; education increased by 0.1%; culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 2.33%; other goods and services increased by 6.49%. There were 3/11 groups of goods with price indexes that decreased compared to the previous month, including: housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials decreased by 0.26%; household equipment and appliances decreased by 0.09%, and post and telecommunications decreased by 0.68%.
