(CT) - On August 3, 2023, in Can Tho City, the Emulation Cluster of 5 centrally-run cities held a conference to review the work of the Front in the first 6 months of 2023.

Comrade Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Comrade Nguyen Van Hieu, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, chaired the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee Nguyen Van Hieu said that this is a meaningful activity for localities to review the results achieved as well as exchange and share experiences, and propose solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of the Front's operations in the coming time. He summarized the results achieved by Can Tho City as well as the city's Fronts at all levels in the first months of 2023.
In the first 6 months of the year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of 5 cities implemented the 2023 coordinated action program in conjunction with the local political tasks and identified key tasks to achieve many outstanding results. The contents of the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" were deployed by the City Fronts in conjunction with the implementation of local socio-economic development tasks, contributing to the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas such as implementing social security programs, mobilizing the distribution of 560,685 Lunar New Year gifts worth more than 289 billion VND to policy households, poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances; mobilizing the "For the Poor" Fund for more than 157 billion VND; building and repairing 1,242 Great Solidarity houses worth more than 60 billion VND. The campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" was propagated in various forms combined with the organization of Vietnamese goods markets; focusing on introducing and honoring high-quality Vietnamese products and goods. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of cities participated in giving opinions on draft laws and legal documents related to the rights and obligations of the people; propagandized, mobilized, and organized to collect opinions from the community on the implementation of a number of key projects and works in the locality to create consensus among the people; coordinated the organization of 461 dialogue conferences between the heads of Party committees and authorities at the same level and the people; organized 18 monitoring delegations on 10 contents; organized 319 social criticism conferences...

Speaking at the conference, comrade Do Van Chien highly appreciated the achievements of the Fronts at all levels in 5 centrally-run cities. He suggested that the Fronts at all levels need to be more deeply aware of their responsibilities in mobilizing people of all walks of life to successfully carry out assigned tasks; cities in the emulation cluster should improve the quality and effectiveness of the Fronts' activities at all levels in the direction of choosing key, central, proactive, and drastic tasks for the Party and the people; promote the role of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. In the current period, the Front needs to do a good job of social supervision and criticism; promote the role of member organizations, experts, and advisory councils to create strength with the Front cadres at all levels to carry out their tasks well; strengthen training for the Front cadres at all levels...
